Once again, the Canadian government takes another small step towards becoming just like the U.S., which in my opinion is the exact opposite direction that we should be headed in.

This bill doesnt make sense.
Its states that these mandatory minimum sentences are for drug related crimes that involve violence, or organized crime (where involvement is evident and/or has benefited organized crime).
So what will happen to people that grow a small amount of plants for personal use, and that have never sold, and have absolutely no association with organized crime?
It doesnt state anywhere what would happen in such cases, and wouldnt that mean that there is a loophole already, and people in such cases would basically get off with just paying a fine.
Because under that bill, growing 1 - 200 plants, with connection to organized crime (or for the purpose of trafficking) brings a minimum of 6 months and a maximum of 14 years. So what if those two conditions arent there, then what? Are they going to send grandma's and grandpa's to prison for growing their own? If so then that is completely unlogical and ridiculous.

Even if provinces create by-laws against the federal ones, police will always ignore the provincial ones and stick to the federal ones.

Canada for the most part is just like american with a few minor differences. I think if they pass this it will be to "fund raise" for black ops programs and such off of fines and fee's etc. aka prohibition.
Be fully aware the federal gov in america knows the drug war is a war that cant be won. Its completely futile to even try and a huge waste of the publics funds aka accumulated tax dollars and this fact is well known and documented. Why do you think America's federal Gov. refuses to leave the states that decided to legalize medicinal marijuana alone?
Yeah, they would make $ off of taxing it but off the bat the gov would lose money in under the table revenue. IMHO
My heart goes out to canada and BC on this one if it passes.
I am fully aware this whole this will sound very fucking crazy to most of you & im okie with that.
extra semi-related rant-age, skip if your in a hurry:
Theirs a certain hand in every counties pocket & i expect to see the american dollar clapse very soon. Followed by the release of the "AmerO" to replace the USA $ after millions of people are left beat. Then perhaps a merging of CANADA MEXICO AND USA currency & all into one "union" if the powers that be have their way. But who knows?!
(where involvement is evident and/or has benefited organized crime).
