    Well I am 43 and I have been smoking since I was 17.(no ill effects)
    Always in moderation since I am pretty healthy I just limit my use on the weekends.
    I love it and the older I get I think the better is for me, one thing it does It makes me sleep much deeper, which lately I am having problems with.
    For the last few years I been getting organic stuff and really makes a difference, I never have any drowsiness the next day.
    In fact makes me more active and energetic.
    My favorite thing to do stoned is to walk in the woods with my dog.
    I allways dicover somthing new and amaizing, especialy about my self, also like some other posters said I have become very body aware, because of pot I have learn taichi and shiatsu.
    Cannabis has been a greate teacher for me and so many aspects.
    I tend to like sativas, my only advice is to treat it with respect and unless you suffer some illnes also in moderation, because even good things if done to much turn bad.

    Yes, my daily cannabis consumption makes my life better. I can truthfully say that it is keeping me alive. I'm a brain tumor survivor, and had a third grand mal seizure two and a half years after the tumor was resected, so that was a very disconcerting experience. I was prescribed the standard pharmaceutical anti-seizure drug, known to cause irritability. I took it for about a month before I realized the side effects, and started my daily cannabis use, all under doctor's approval. I continue to be tumor and seizure free since beginning the daily cannabis over two years ago.
    I've adapted a new lifestyle. I try to eat right and get enough exercise, but the most important thing is that I just make sure I take a toke (some days more) of cannabis every day. It's the healthy choice.

    Well, for what most people think of as 'medical' I use it for headaches and spasms which are a side effect of a brain injury and brain surgery, and it is effective for that. But I was interpreting the thread more in terms of how MJ contributes to 'wellness' rather than how it is used to counter illness or injury. Hence my mention that (for me) getting high goes well with exercise.

    As for weed making you high, what's wrong with seeing that in itself as a positive contribution to one's health? Frankly, being happy and relaxed probably does more overall for creating and preserving good health than all the modern drug-medicines we have.

    I don't see the fact that pot is pleasurable as distinct from it's health benefits. In fact, I think that is one of the things which makes it good for you.

    I suffer from Fibromyalgia and weed let me drop 6 of my 11 scripts and allows me to play with my son again.

    lol...my girlfriend does the same thing to me when I'm out..tells me to get some and don't come back till I'm happy (I have mood swings and anxiety issues from panic attacks)

    Very well said. I've heard one theory that ALL use if medical, even if the consumer is not aware of it. Stress is a killer. Anything that can relieve that stress, even for a little bit, help someone get a goods night sleep and wake up feeling calm and relaxed is very powerful and useful.

    Do people take sleeping pills, anti-depressants and anti-anxiety pills just "to get high"? I don't buy into the thinking that you need to be on your death bed before its okay to use cannabis for it natural medical effects.

    Marijuana drastically helps with my Menieries' Disease and the vertigo and vomiting that comes with it. It keeps my stress levels lower (which is a huge factor in the disease) and lowers the ringing symptoms I expierience everyday...or atleast makes them more tolerable.

    It was either smoke marijuana or be a dope fiend to xanax or valium (main treatments for Menieres Disease) for the rest of my life....and I'll be damned if Im one of those people.

    All from a seed ya put in the ground.....thank you God or Allah or Buddah or Jesus or Oprah or whoever blessed us with this medicine.

    Good Thread.

    I'm reading some interesting comments from users of "name-brand" stuff and schwag. I really notice the difference between crap from the street, and the stuff that I've seen grown and harvested. Sometime Schwag makes all my sore spots hurt MORE! And, it usually make me stupid, too.

    Knowing WHAT you are using makes a difference! This will be the big thing, once medical cannabis use comes out of the closet. Brand matters.

    I use Jack Herer to help motivate, energize and wring out the best "performance" my MS-body is capable of.

    I sometimes use Northern Lights with it in a 75%Jack/25% Northern Lights mix (Easy to do with Tincture), that takes care of the muscle spasms, the pain and the difficulty in moving physically. Using a tincture in my coffee (with something fatty, like a cookie) is a reasonable way to get the herb into me. It takes up to 1.5 hours to get to it's maximum, but stays effective for 4-6 hours.

    It really helps me physically, but more importantly, it helps me WANT to go on living, instead of giving up. Why? I think it's because I know now, that relief is always available to me, so the pain and difficulty doesn't get under my skin so much. I know I can "escape" it anytime. It's wonderful!

    No other drug used to help Multiple Sclerosis (except perhaps Sativex, which is not available yet in the US) can even come close to herb for MS pain and spasticity. I've tried them all. Herb gave me my life back - simple as that!
