50 ng, 20ng, 15 ng pre emp UA - thoughts and experiences

I dont want to tell you your going to be ok and then be wrong. Im not sure if any of us can tell you wether or not your going to fall under the 20ng level. Im really not sure why your cutoff would be this low for a regular pre-employment drug screen. The only tests ive seen that fall under this category would be a DOT test or and military screen. Are you getting faint lines or dark lines on your home tests?

Nice and dark - as dark as the control w/o dilution.

i might be paranoid about this. they dont even hire people who use tobacco. i am assuming the worst, and preparing myself for teh worst.

the job docs said medtox 10 panel drug of abuse screen, and the test i found, with the exact same name, had a 20 ng c/o, even tho it was a clinical test. maybe the employment one has the same name. but nonetheless they can choose 20 ng.

i am wondering what they are using. i will try and find out the name of the test before i go. i have no problems asking. i have not received any paperwork and don't expect to.

i know the online calculator isnt gospel, but using that, i shoud be at 26ng or so by test time. would think a minor dil. would take me below 20

I honestly think your going to be ok, the dark lines are a good sign. Keep up your workout schedule and fiber intake. Then a few days before the test just be lazy. Make sure you load up on creatine 48 hours before the test and substitute gatorade for water in your dilution. I wish you the best of luck and be sure to let us know your results.

i will let everyone know whatever i find out in case it can help someone else. i have seen other people ask about medtox and not get much info.

i'll let you know when i am scheduled and if i find out the name of the test (SAP10-50 vs SAP 10-20) and what i do the day of, and how the facility is.

The THC cutoff level for all DOT tests is 50 ng for the initial screen, and 15 ng for the confirmation test if the sample tests above 50 ng on the initial screen, as outlined in Subpart F - §40.87 of the DOT regulations, which can be found here: http://www.dot.gov/ost/dapc/NEW_DOCS...rt_f/40_87.pdf

right it would be better if it was a DOT test, then i would know it was 50 instead of 20

it does not make sense to me that an employer would prescreen with 20 ng when the field does not involve transportation or mental health or prescription drugs

it would seem they would get a lot moer initital positives and have to pay for the gc/ms and so would want to set it at 50

at least this is what i am telling myself to try to calm down

couldn't have said it any better, this would be a very smart measure

also, if you aren't confident, substitution will work 100% of the time if done correctly

It's usually 50 ng/ml on the immunoassay and 15ng/ml on the GC/MS or if they use 20ng/ml on the immunoassay they usually use 10 ng/ml on the GC/MS. It is possible for it to be a 20 and 10 ng/ml test. Yes you might not think it necessary in your field but maybe the employer has chose it for whatever reason.

Sensi, you mentioned in a post that "based on the online calculator" that you felt you were at 26 ng/ml. It looks like you have figured out that 20 ng/ml home tests are non existant or near impossible to find and that you are basing this on a worst case scenario of a half life of 10 days? Is this how you came up with it?
