    Please Help.. Flowering Questions

Hello everyone. If i could get some answers to some questions i would be extremely thankful.

First what are the cheapest/best lights for Flowering stage?
    What CFL/Flouro's would be best?

Also, what if i were to put a plant thats about 6 inches tall and only been in veg. for about 30 days and induce early flowering?
Can i do this and what will happen? Just very limited and small tiny buds??

And last a friend of mine cut the top his plant off. It's the plant that we were thinking of putting in flowering at his house. He apparantly topped it and it didn't really grow, it turned kinda black looking. What does that mean? Well, He then cut the top off completely. Is it possible anything will grow at the top or will it just become very short and bushy? Thats why he wanted to induce early flowering to get some small buds atleast?

Please let me know, Thank you guys very much

Those terms are very subjective and really mean nothing in terms of color. It varies too much from mfg. to mfg. You want blue for veg, red for bud. This means 5600-6600K for veg, preferably 5700K, and 2500-3200K for bud, preferably 2500K but you'll probably have to settle for 2700K. This is the color temperature of the bulb in kelvin, and the standard for determining and measuring the color of CFLs. If it isn't on the package it may be on the ballast part of the bulb. If not you can get the model number and look it up on the spec sheet on their website, or call them. Otherwise, just remember that if it doesn't say anything on the package about being cool or daylight, then it's probably 2700K, the cheapest and most common, and great for budding. The good vegging bulbs are about twice as expensive.

Ultimately you want a mix of about 8.5:1, blue to red in veg, and the opposite in bud.

You can start a plant budding at any stage of life. Some people take their plants out of the cloner and start budding immediately. The longer you veg, the more the yield. I like to veg 1 or 2 months so I get some weed for my efforts.

Topping is good, normally, and your plant should be fine. Topping makes a plant more bushy instead of letting it get one big cola blocking all the light.
