When a plant is very young the nodes, or the spots where the branches come out, are often the same height, with one on one side of the stem and another on the other. Within a couple weeks the nodes start to spread out, or alternate. You then get one on the left, then one on the right an inch or two or three above the one on the left instead of directly across from it.
You will get more than one cola automatically, unless you are doing the lollipop style. Pinching the tops or cutting the tops is topping, unless you are doing FIM, which I won't try to describe. When you top you get bushier plants, which is usually more desirable. Topping, FIMing, LST, not topping, all produce about the same yield. If you do nothing you will have less colas and bigger colas, and you will need to concern yourself more with how to support them once they get heavy, or take a chance on them breaking.

so, from what i can understand here, i need to do a lollipop style so i dont have more than one cola ( ie ones that shoot out to the sides because they will break?) and just have one main one?. is that right opie yutts? is this the easiest way? sorry if im racking your brains dude lol
how do i do this do i just prune these side colas before they grow too big? and this will still give me the same yeild yes? ok im off to read up on FIMing now cheers.

this will explain some of the concepts your asking about, when you finish that one go here Cannabis FAQs / FAQ , Recipes, Medical Marijuana and find some others to read. the truth is that most of the answers you seek are already there. show some initiative and earn some respect

thank you JAB. i really wouldnt have asked half the questions i have if i had seen that link b4.. i really had only noticed the stickys! i wont blame the forum designers GUI skills cos i got there in the end and wouldnt take the info on offer for granted and bite the hand that feeds me!! once again thanks for the link... you can refrain now from going thru all my posts and hittin me up with that link.. i get the picture!! i can honestly say i thought i was some kind of sponsored link that was goin to say stuff like "is cannabis affecting your life" etc.... (although on second thoughts now, why the fuck why it would say that on a forum like this i dnt know LOL!) i guess it was because it just said cannabis FAQ rather than cannabis growing FAQ! plus it wasnt blatant enough (for me anyways) do i have a valid point? is it just me? do i really care? im jus lettin u know JAB so u can calm your stress factor lol... seriously though thanks for your help...
peace!
