Help please yellow/brown tips (soil grow)

Hey everyone, my plant has been looking really good, its PPP and its about 2 to 3 inches tall and about to have its 3rd set of leaves but i just noticed today that the tips of the 2nd set of leaves are turning yellow/brown (its very small right now but looks like it could be bad). I read up online and flushed today, wiped off the leaves with a sponge just incase it was mites, i use tap water so its not mg deff., and set up fly strips near the plant and water source because i noticed some flying bugs around it and in the room. do you think it could be the (what looks like nats) bugs?
please help, (stinky? i know you have some useful advice)

    E-indoor
    E-soil
    E-MG MC
    SCL-nothing added to soil
    SCLR-6.8 runoff ph
E-Water source-tap water ph corrected kept out for 24 hours
    E-Source water pH-7
    E-Age of plant-around 5 days
    E-Type of fertilizer-none
E-Lighting source and distance from plant-1 23w cfl 2 to 3 inches away
E-Air temperature (both day and night if you are running a dark period) -stays 73 to 80 (usually about 78)
    E-Air % Relative humidity-25 to 30%
    E-Lighting schedule-24/0 (just switched to 18/6)
E-Type of ventilation your room has-keep the door open to let outdoor air get in

sry i dont have my camera until next week so i can take pictures, but its a real subtle brown spot on the very tip of the leaf and almost looks like that part is dead, even though its really small, like half a mm. any help is greatly appreciated

    Without pix, hard to say.
Too early for extra nutes or additives...they can too easily burn. Especially if using MG.
How large are the pots they are in? How many in each pot?
    Do they have adequate drainage?
Do you let the soil dry a bit between waterings?

The MG may be a bit hot for your babies, however I've never lost a seedling to MG. But I did have to learn that they are serious when stating on the label that shit about being a moisture control formula. Extra perlite, and a tad longer between waterings helped. 1/2 strength nutes (or so) after the first 3 or 4 weeks, regular strength a couple of weeks later.

i took his pic with my phone so sorry if its bad quality its currently in a 3 quart pot with 30 percent perlite and come to think if it i did just water it when i saw the spot the next day so do you think it could be over watering even though i only do it once every 3 days? and how do i fix this since it is in such a big pot the roots cant get to all the wet spots?

Kinda hard to tell plant condition in the pix, but soil does look mighty wet. These aren't water lillies, lol.

With a plant that size, in a pot that size...use your finger. Stick it in about 1" from the edge, up to the second knuckle, or so. If the soil is 'clumpy' wet, no need to water. (grab a handful of soil. If it doesn't clump, it's dry enough to water. If it clumps, it's 'clumpy', and too wet to add more moisture, lol) If just moist, then it's almost time to water. Give it an exrta 12-24 hours, and then water. MG Moisture Control wll hold the moisture for longer, so overwatering is a concern.

If it's taking the soil 4 or 5 days to dry-out, may want to consider just watering around the drip line of the foliage, or build a little soil-berm 2" out from the base, all around the base. (should look like a donut, with a plant growing thru it's hole) This keeps the water closer to the trunk till absorbed, and needs less water for moisture to penetrate deeper down. Careful not to wash-away soil from base while watering, too. Early on, the roots don't seem to extend much beyond the drip line of the leaves, so soaking the soil outside that circle is unnecessary and possibly harmful in the long run.

Best to start 'em in smaller pots, to avoid this situation, but, there's always next time.

alright thanks for the advice. Before this i kinda paniced and read what to do on overwatering on another site, so i followed the directions and very carefully with the lights off took the whole plant out of the soil and wrapped the roots in paper towels until dry, it didnt look like it had root rot because they were white and not brown. while they were drying i shuffled around in the soil to air it out, then after the moisture was out of the roots after 5 minutes i put it back in the airy soil and put it under the hps to try and dry out th soil and help out the plant... hopefully that worked and i didnt end up killing it:wtf:. ill let u know tomorrow
