Nuteless grow
Since I was unable to find any of the preferred nutes and soils around my area, I started with Miracle grow and just watered with tap water that would sit overnight to match room temp.
So far they have been doing pretty good. I've had some leaves brown and wither, but that may be mostly because my velcro light setup would un-stick itself from the wall of my cabinet and fall onto, touch or get very close to the plants.
I would say the leaves are all a very healthy green color and out of the 8 plants I started with, it appears that I have three females. I took out my last two males today. I know that two of the three are females for sure, but the last one is slow on the flowering. I'm just over two weeks of flowering after a 6 weeks of veg.
I'm sure I will not get a huge yield, but this was just to experiment to see how well these things will do in my cabinet with how I have it set up. That and just to get me some bud as soon as possible. Now that I've started flowering I will probably order some seeds and get some good soil and nutes.
Is there anyone else out there that has done a nuteless grow? What were your results?
I'm hoping I get at least enough to last me through the next grow. That will be plenty to keep me happy with my first grow.JaySin Reviewed by JaySin on . I'm sure people have tried it but you will see that once you go into flower mode, and those plants get HUNGRY, you will need to start feeding or risk losing your crop. Even crappy houseplant nutes and some bone meal mixed into the soil for the final transplant are better than nothing.

From what I've read people put nutes in there water that they water with every day. Although with the plant ferts I've seen at wal-mart they say to add once every 7-14 days. Is this because it is a different type?
I was going to buy the stuff but want to make sure I'm going to help my plants instead of just torture them. So far after a little over two weeks of flowering the buds are doing pretty good. Can't wait to harvest.

You will yield a modest amount, but you can get by without adding nutes. I have had plants go through their whole grow cycle without any nutes besides what miracle puts in the soil. I have seen good results by adding 2tbsp of unsulphured molasses per gallon of water. It supplies sugars and trace nutrients that a plant craves.
good luck on your grow!:smokin:

Is unsulphured molasses available at the grocery store then? I will probably at least do molasses if nothing else.

You need nutes. Molasses won't help if the plants are starving.

Well tomorrow I actually get off early. I think I know where a garden shop is in town here. I'll try to run up there and see what I can find. Hopefully I can get what I need for my the rest of this grow and my entire next grow.
I might just end up ordering nutes off the internet. Although that still leaves me with what kind of soil to go with. I guess I will go with miracle grow organic if I can't find anything else.Any law against what I do on this forum would be impeding on my right to freedom and the pursuit of happiness.
