When you say a shit load of molasses, how much do you use per gallon.
Why boil the roots, what does your buddy say it does?

For the molasses, I have been giving it 1/2 tsp per gallon since week 4 of flower. i will be stepping it up during flush to 1.5 tsp.

and my buddy, actually a really good grower that I just met and has been hooking me up with clones, said that boiling the roots can add stress to force things (not sure exactly what) out to the buds.. something along those lines... he told me about it after a bowl of white widow x gdp x gdp hash and the details are foggy but it makes sense. i'm sure someone on here has heard of it. ive read of other people that do other manipulative techniques (total darkness) the last couple days to add stress to produce more resin

greenatik, I saw your post in another thread regarding bonsai'ing limbs to allow concentration of growth on the main cola and using such technique on some/all of your clones. I was just reading a bit, and came across an interesting technique called "limbing."

I am repasting an excerpt from Robert Connell Clarke's Marijuana Botany which may be of use to you. This excerpt was freely available on the internet not in violation of any copyright law, and its reproduction on here represents no such violation.

Limbing is another common method of pruning Cannabis plants. Many small limbs
will usually grow from the bottom portions of the plant, and due to shading they
remain small and fail to develop large floral clusters. If these atrophied
lower limbs are removed, the plant can devote more of its floral energies to the
top parts of the plant with the most sun exposure and the greatest chance of
pollination. The question arises of whether removing entire limbs constitutes a
shock to the growing plant, possibly limiting its ultimate size. It seems in
this case that shock is minimized by removing entire limbs, including
proportional amounts of stems, leaves, meristems, and flowers; this probably
results in less metabolic imbalance than if only flowers, leaves, or meristems
were removed. Also, the lower limbs are usually very small and seem of little
significance in the metabolism of the total plant. In large plants, many limbs
near the central stalk also become shaded and atrophied and these are also
sometimes removed in an effort to increase the yield of large floral clusters on
the sunny exterior margins.

yes, thank you jake! only difference is that bonsai scissors make the shoot grow back 1/2 as big, rather then pruning, which completely removes the node. I am pretty sure either way will work well for my application !
