greenatik, dude, you have a mass of green on your hands, my friend! I can't wait to see Pilav strung up and drying; and, I'm super anxious to read a smoke report of her - she is amazingly beautiful. Your outdoor ladies are getting FLIPPIN' HUGE! And, you have an incredible strain assortment. There is no doubt you have some green thumbs, bro!

As for boiling the roots, I ran across another excerpt from the above-quoted source about this technique. It appears it doesn't do anything except lengthen the dry time -

Boiling attached Cannabis roots after harvesting whole plants, but before
drying, is an interesting technique. Originally it was thought by cultivators
that boiling the roots would force resins to the floral clusters. In actuality,
there are very few resins within the vascular system of the plant and most of
the resins have been secreted in the heads of glandular trichomes. Once resins
are secreted they are no longer water-soluble and are not part of the vascular
system. As a result, neither boiling nor any other process will move resins and
cannabinoids around the plant. However, boiling the roots does lengthen the
drying time of the whole plant. Boiling the roots shocks the stomata of the
leaves and forces them to close immediately; less water vapor is allowed to
escape and the floral clusters dry more slowly. If the leaves are left intact
when drying, the water evaporates through the leaves instead of through the
    flowers.
I don't know if that helps at all, but I thought I'd pass it along. Keep up the incredible work with these ladies, my friend! I hope this post finds you and yours well.
jakezking Reviewed by jakezking on . outdoor lst - come on in hello everyone, thought i would share my outdoor grow this summer. i am trying to keep my plants as horizontal as possible, and so far things are looking great. they are from bagseed planted in peat bags march 21, and they have been outdoors for about 3 weeks. they are in 3 gallon pots now and will be putting them in large holes with burlap and mulch to reduce my watering frequency. I have been giving them piranha beneficial fungi, dark energy, protekt drought/heatstress protection, and Rating: 5

damn, thanks jake, you always have relevant information man! I was skeptical about boiling the roots, and now it doesn't seem to do enough for me to waste the time! just going to chop her and hang her upside down

she is looking good, if ya can see past the burnt leaves... at least I am already 75% done trimming!

    pilav was harvested tonight..

buds are hanging, drying... awaiting consumption. :food10:

she has been in the dark for the last 48 hours. she smells great and is covered in thc. I used sweet citrus the last week 1/2, and she smells completely different now. Probably could of taken her another week, still white hairs on top of a few buds. w/e I need smoke, and I want to get my new run underway.

    anyways enjoy some pictures :stoned:

oh yeah.. what do you think i yielded? seems to be a lot for 9 day veg on a almost dead clone.. i also broke off a main branch that was quite large, plus a lot of small buds already smoked

edit* 77 days total for flowering - + about 20 days. the plant was about to die after being outside for a week, then it was brought inside, and vegged for 9 days.

anyways the buds are fluffy and yield will probably be lower then guesstimated. ive sampled small dry buds already, super good stuff :food10:

i want to wait for at least a week cure and get a couple, better smoke reports from buddies. here is a mini smoke report.

it has a nice smell to it even though most the buds need about 2 days left before the jar. singes the nose on the exhale and it is smooth at first with a definite pineapple-y taste. mellow at first, but has a hard kick about 5-10 minutes in. lots of laughter and munchies. it also makes my mind wander.

anyways, im high right now, and thats the pre-cure smoke report

also would like to point out that in the picture of my outdoor girls, the bigger ones are about 5 ft tall. all other plants are over 3-4 feet. looking awesome and all the supercrops were a success.

    :rasta:

    and im out

greenatik, Pilav's hairs are INSANE! She has to be an amazing smoke. As beautiful as she was in life, she must be even more beautiful curing and smoking! I can't wait for some good dried pictures of her.

And, your outdoor ladies are becoming monsters, dude! I'm looking forward to seeing them begin flowering. You are certainly going to wind up with quite a bit of weight from them, and I hope they turn out to be as potent as Pilav!

Glad to see all's well with you, my friend!
