As long as the roots can grow freely it should be fine, just fill the hole with top-notch soil though. Grew using burlap bags, roots grew through bag in soil.....prepared soil ahead of time with a couple of handfuls of lime (under bag) two weeks before planting.Plants finished nicely and in early stages bags were easily moved if plants were too shaded.
Sage of Bud Reviewed by Sage of Bud on . Would this work? I'm going to be doing an outdoor grow. If I use a smaller pot (cutting out the bottom of course), and place it on top of a dug-out hole in the ground will this create any kind of "root-boundness?" Rating: 5
