mother with a question
My son was pulled over by a state patrol for no license plate light. The officer smelled marijuana and arrested my son (he's 17) for operating under the influence. He collected a urine sample and it is being sent to a lab to be tested. My question is how long after marijuana is smoke will it show up in urine. My son is very athletic with no body fat, assuming he is telling the truth that he hadn't smoked for a few weeks, I am wondering if the test will come back positive.

I am a mother with a question
At what point does the THC test for positive in urine? I have a 17 year old son that was just arrested for driving under the influence. He was pulled over for no license plate light by a state highway patrol who smelled marijuan and arrested him. He had to send his urine off for a test, and assuming my son is telling the truth that he hasn't smoked for a few weeks I am wondering if a couple of hours is enough time for it to enter his urine.

Assuming he is telling the truth and hasnt smoked for weeks, if they conducted the drug test immediately, then he should pass. "It takes approximately 6â??8 hours or more post-consumption for drugs (THC) to be metabolized and excreted in urine"

im bothered a little by this.. we need more details about your son!
was he drunk? or high when he was driving?
you can't be arrested unless you fail sobriety tests and/or you have something illegal on you or in your vehicle. you definitely can't be arrested because your car 'smells like pot.' cops can and will try to pin marijuana use even from three weeks ago on his driving that night (its bullshit) but usually you can get those charges thrown out if your judge knows anything about marijuana and testing for it whatsoever.
yeah it enters fat cells pretty quickly i think. if its been more than eight or twelve hours itll probably show up =/
