    Genetics problem?? or??

3 plants all started at the same time, all in the same size pots, and same soil... Miracle Grow Moisture Control feeds up to 3 months (0.21-0.07-0.14). Of the 3 plants, 2 are kind of weirded out, almost deformed, and the 3rd is normal. I am wondering if this is a genetics problem, or is there something else going on.
The strain is Afghani Hundu Kush from High Quality Seeds(bought through Rhino Seeds). I dunno... if you need more difinitive pics, let me know.

Flush the other 2 plants and put in a different soil, as the Miracle Grow is pumping the wrong amounts of nutes to your plants, the one that's fine might just be a stronger plant.

Miracle Grow soil is pure ass for pot, you don't want any of that slow release stuff man.

maybe I should have been more specific... The seeds were started in regular dirt with a little peat in it, they came up that way, they were started under lights at 18/6 (6 26w 3500K CFLs), in 3 inch peat pots, and the deformity was there when the real leaves started coming out. They were transplanted into 10 inch pots with the Miracle Grow potting soil when they had their 3rd set of leaves, then moved outside. This was done the same way I have done all the others and have never had a problem, which is why I was asking about genetics for 2 to come out wierd and 1 normal under the exact same conditions and times.

Now if you could tell me what potting soil you use thats readily available at Walmart or Lowes, I will try that on my next grow.

Is there no organic soil or compost?

You can mix manure with black dirt and gypsum.

I'm betting it's the genes. Males like to start fast, and weak sisters can be slow. I wouldn't change anything yet.

Some of my best harvests came from weak starting sisters...

What did the root systems look like?..during the transplant.

Root system is very strong... I transplant the peat pots when the roots start coming through the bottom of the pot.

FWIW, I have 2 California Sensimillia plants that were done the exact same way and they are currently 40+ inches, and both beginning to flower. There another thread regarding those:

I also have an Arjans Ultra Haze #1 plant that is rockin along done the same way.

Being self employed, I really don't have a lot of time to play with exotic or special hand mixed soils. I seem to do alright with what I am using, unless you can recommend something else that I can get from Lowes, or Walmart.

I don't really need to be buying a bunch of weird stuff thats gonna be raising red flags either. I do live in the "real" south.... just about 50 miles from I-10 in rural south Mississippi.

You can just get some good potting soil without any ferts in it.

Then just buy liquid fertilizer, so you can more easily control nutrients going into it.

hey dude, your plants look ok to me and Miracle Grow may not be the best but you have to work with what you got.
my only suggestion is that you should replace most of those cfl's with 6500K's or even 5000K's, if you do, your plants will grow shorter and bushier with much shorter internodes, maybe replace 4 and leave 2 alone.
anyway, thanks for sharing your efforts.

    bozo,
    peace, love, dope
