help me to make my mini grow box please (ideas &advice)

hello guys and gals,im new to this forum,ive found alot of usefull info in the 2 days ive been lookin around

ive looked at the big elaborate boxes some people use and it kinda puts me off wanting to grow as im not sure id be able to make and maintain such a big box with so many lights and fans

i like to keep things easy and simple and carefree if possible,obviously the more you put in the more you get back in return

but for starting out i think i would rather not heavily invest in lights and equipment and try keep things easy as posible

so heres the story

i have a cabinet roughly 3 feet high 2 feet wide and 1 foot and a half deep, its the only space i have for the moment,id be happy to get 1 plant growing in there,2 plants are my limit,i dont want to grow any more then 2 plants at 1 time and i dont think ill bother with clones or anything..basically just grow the plant smoke it and then after that mayb get new seeds and grow another plant, a smallscale operation

ive went through many posts and pics but still im stuck at what i need to do to get this box ready for my plants to go in

could anyone be kind and basically spell out for me exactly

(1) how many lights i need for this size of a box??

(2) what kind of ventilation/fan system if any ill need and where should it be placed in the box?do i need a shelf in this box or just all 1 open space?

(3) THIS IS MOST IMPORTANT
the odour from the plants,im living with other people who wouldnt be too happy if they thought i was growing plants,i could get evicted for it,so with a box this size how do i tackel the plant odour and contain or eradicate it???

im lookin forward to any help you can give,im aware these questions have possibly been asked many times before but looki nat the posts ive gone through im still at a loose end at where to begin

since you could lose your place to stay i advise against you growing weed indoors.
with that said....
how big is your budget?
you might want to consider a cfl set-up since you'll have less problems with heat
as far as odor is concerned you can use filter sheets that have carbon in them, you'll just want to cut them to size, they are less messy than the carbon granules i use.
