Why do i need both types of lighting?

Do i really need to get both flouresent for the veg, and sodium for flowering, im looking to get 250w sodium grow package, but ive read alot of post and they say its best to get a cfl or t5 flouresent tube for the veg.

I need to be 100% sure that i can definately use a 250w sodium from when it sprouts.

And i need to be 100% sure, i cant take any risks. plz can u reply if u have grown on a sodium from when the seeds have sprouted or u know for a fact you can grom using a sodium lamp from day 1.

250hps will do you just fine. remember its super strong so keep your babies a good distance away so they dont burn and shrivel up. the blue spectrum you would get from your cfls would be nice for the plants because more blue light during vegetative growth increases likelihood of female sex, but its not a big deal. 250 hps is a good choice, they dont typically raise the temps much at all.
