Where the emphasis to gain independence from fossil fuels?
That's what I want to see, not a plan to tamper with the operation of the free market. We seen enough with the Iraq war. Bush severely miscalculated on using the war as an economic stimulus, not anticipating the subprime mess that's stifling the economy.
The current gas price should be a message to put emphasis on public transportation and developing alternate technologies such making hydrogen-powered cars more reliable and cheaper, a plan to implement a network of gas stations based on this technology.
