Flowering straight from the seed. Very Confused??

Hi ppl, i was looking on a site the other day and found a plant called lemon stinky and it says-'' they can be put into flower from seed on 12/12 lighting and harvested at no bigger than 25 inches''. and i searched for it on here and a guy was asking a qeustion which i am asking now but no1 give him a specific answer.

And its all very confusing, im not an experienced grower so i got the idea that you could put them into flowering from seed(as soon as youve germinated them), because it literally says ''they can be put into flower from seed on 12/12 lighting'', so has any1 tried this if so what was the outcome, or even if you havent and have a good knowledge of this strain can you please tell me if i can ut them straight into flowering. Thanks

I believe any plant can grow with just 12/12 lighting and will flower as soon as it is mature enough. No big deal there, all plants under 12/12 will flower as soon as they are capable. This strain may reach sexual maturity earlier than others. With that said, if it is not capable of producing flowers for 2 weeks, why not give it the most possible light in those 2 weeks? It can only help

I've heard of putting clones into 12/12 just after root formation, but a seedling has to mature before it can properly flower.
A clone, theoretically, is at the same level of maturity as the donor mom, so has a bit of a head-start on the process.

If you put seedlings into 12/12 too soon, they just keep vegging very slowly, (get's wrong nutes for further vegging, wrong light spectrum and combative light cycles) till they are ready for flowering. Big waste of time, lower yeild, subject to stress. Unless forced at gunpoint to start your sedlings on 12/12 early, much better to properly veg them till they are biologically ready.

Actually, this is a technique commonly used to grow sats indoors, where any veg time will cause the finished plant to be freakin' ginormous.

Also folks who are running rotaries from seed.

Yeild bites, but it'll work- expect flower times to go a little long ( 10-20%)

if you put 10 seeds under 12/12 i say you would have quite a crop in a short space of time:rastasmoke: 2 and half months

i prefere to veg a couple of weeks tho, increases yeild

Never having used this technique on purpose, I can't honestly give concrete evidence, either way. If only one growspace, with very limited height, I can almost see why one would want to try. But I have never liked the results of early flowering.

Since I have seperate veg and flower rooms, I would prefer not to waste my time trying to skip vegging just to keep them small. There are techniques to alleviate a sat's tendencies to stretch, such as LST and topping for instance.

The times that I was forced to early flower, I have never netted a satisfying harvest. Quite the contrary. Perhaps my perpeptual harvest technique doesn't allow for the patience required to complete the painfully long flower stage, but, stringy, stress-prone underperformers aren't what I strive for. Could be I just do it wrong, lol.

I've heard many accounts of folks starting a seed at 12/12, meaning it IS possible, although the plant won't initiate flowering until it's mature enough to do so. But unless you're planning to run a SOG, with numerous plants, you'll be kicking yourself in the ass over yield. I gotta agree with Rusty, you'll get a better yield if you at least have SOME vegging... preferably enough to let the plants get at least four or five nodes on them, then switch to flower lighting. If height is an issue, train or top 'em to keep the canopy even and low.

The point the Rhizome brought up is one reason growing sats indoors is SUCH a PITA. I think if I were to try it, I'd do the clone mom + flower clones immediately upon rooting technique.

Mr. C's suggestion of at least allowing 4-5 nodes is IMHO a very good one. This takes you at least out of the vulnerable seedling stage, when the plant is gaining strength and growing good roots, and puts you in the stage where adding fertilizer won't hurt it.

But given space and a choice... I'd wait to see nodes go alternating before flipping. With a strain that tends to stay short-ish, there's no reason NOT to!
