    Aeroponics mist on/off time

So I am relatively new to aeroponics. I have just recently finished my first system and have been using it for a couple of weeks. My system is very much like these examples:

    Aeroponic System Plans - PVC + Tubs - Page 3 - The Garden's Cure

    Dr. Sub's DIY Aeroponic System - PlanetGanja.com

Building a Home Made Aeroponic ?? - Cannabis Culture Forums

My question is basically this: how long should the misters be running? Right now i have them set to go for 15 minutes every hour, but can it just be run 24/7? I believe that ideally, in "true" aeroponics, the mist is only supposed to be on for a couple of seconds, but i cant really find specific information on this anywhere and my timer only has 15 min on/off settings.

So whats the best way for me to do this, 15 on/45 off, 15 on/15 off, 30 on/30 off, or on all the time??

    Aeroponics mist on/off time

in an aeroponics system the roots get their oxygen from the air so the misters have to turn on to allow for that. 15 minutes of misting every 4-5 hours is how i am gonna run my setup.

Yes Way to much, Start at 15min. every 6-hour's, -That 4-times a Day. Watch it for a week. & I think you will feel that is real close. ???When People grow in Soil, Don't they let the Soil get Dry Before watering again????, Same here, If you water to much you will get Root Rought, Stunt Grow'th, Nut-Lock, ect., ect.,.

Just keep it Simple!! Study Long, Where you Won't Go Wrong, & If You get In A Hurry, The Shit Start's To Get Blurry!!!!HEHEHEHE:wtf::wtf::wtf::wtf:

I get what you're saying, but Ive been running my system for almost two weeks now with 15 on and 45 off, and the root plugs seem to be pretty dry. I dont think the plugs themselves are getting tottally soaked with each watering. Isnt that the concern with root rot? I never had any problem in with root rot in dwc and i kept it on 24/7 with bubbles splashing the netpots the entire time. I understand this is a little different, but in that system the hydroton was at least a little wet 24/7. The root plugs were kept relatively dry though and i think this is key in preventing root rot. Ive never had it though so I dunno?

The plants have seemed to be doing very well, but I will go down to 15 min every 2 hours and see if there are any changes. Id like it to run as little as i can and still maximize grotwh so if i dont see any difference after a few days ill go with less.

    Aeroponics mist on/off time

    Hi all...

I was curious about the watering schedule for an aeroponics grow.
What would be the optimum gallons/hour misting on a single root system, with a schedule of 15 minutes on, 4 hours off?

I've found 9-45 micron brass mister nozzles that work wonderfully, but at 10-15gph max on each nozzle, I'm not sure how many to use around the roots and what the best timings would be.

    Any advice is helpful, thanks.

    Aeroponics mist on/off time

First off, I'm an inexperienced grower and this is my first attepmt at Aeroponics. I bought my system from an experienced grower from California. It is a bottom srayer (root system spray not from the top). According to him, the sprayers should come on for 1 minute every 5 minutes 24/7. He says to never let the roots dry or approach dehydration. At most never longer than 20 minutes off. I am currently running my system (32 days from seed) at one minute on and ten minutes off. Everything was beautiful until 2 days when I noticed some stem issues. The plants are beautiful and full but I am trying to troubleshoot the stem issue. My man from Cal says he has never had this problem and does not believe it's from the spray time.

Again, I'm just a novice (try to learn and perfect this type of growing) trying to pass on some info from an experienced Aero grower.

I run my system at 60 sec on and 4 minutes off, it all depends on what kind of misters you have and what pressure they are at. If they deliver alot of water and not much air then you could get away with longer times between watering, mine delivers at 100 psi and atomizes inside the grow chamber to make only a very fine mist, contains tons off oxygen. but they dry out faster and need more frequent watering time, i have tried to bump them up to 10 mins and they were wilting like crazy.
