I never found it offensive unless the context insinuated such..In which case I would promtly exhibit that I was MUCH more intelligent than the person calling me a pothead. Usually came from someone with a beer in their hand or a cigarette in their mouth, then making it rather simple to prove my point.

my friend, i guess you could say my previous best friend calls me a pothead, it used to bother me cause he was a hypocrite, he would joke about doing it, make jokes about it, hell, he even sold it for a few weeks, but stopped cause he knows nothing. he used to say it in a mean way and it was harsh, i would usually just insult him someway back. But i guess now hes cool with it, and he says it, and i just give a little chuckle and shake my head, not in a condemning way, but in a "you're silly" type

I'd sum up the person, and ask if they had a point, if it was negative, I'd just say "You're about to be intellectually trounced in grandiose verboseness.... wait for it...." then I'd smash them intelligently using whatever I'd gathered from them via observation.

"Ya straight-laced pitter patter piece of shit" is what my comeback would be, more or less funny and witty depending on my mood.

And, usually people my age who diss smoking(very few) tend to be drunken asian whores* who scoff at the idea of smoking bowls at a party but are the first to be blowing a guy behind a dumpster at an open bar. I denounce their whore logic and repeatedly make fun of them, both in front of and behind their back.

*No offence to other drunken asian whores, all of you that may be, it just always seems to work out that way
