The name doesn't ring a bell. A little research suggests that either you're referring to a British punk rock star or a Nobel Prize-winning scientist/1997 Australian of the Year. I'll go out on a limb and guess the former.

that was a very interesting article. I have heard some bad stories about the 12-step-program, because in essence what they do is replace one addiction with another. They'll make you replace heroin or crack with cigarettes, alcohol with god, etc. etc...
