Yes, DO pay attention to the dates that a post is written. You might be reading about a problem that no longer is an issue, or how things USED to be.

For instance, I've noticed that Premier Horticulture seems to have changed ProMix's ingredients: older posts talk about adding vermiculite to a particular product to make it like another mix (to turn ProMix HP into BX), but currently they BOTH contain perlite and vermiculite (even in the same ration). So, I guess this is a recent development.

There may be many factors to explain why a crop or a growing device might have fail. Perhaps the person posting about the problem is blaming the wrong set of circumstances for the failure.

I often try to find concensus among various sources, where more than one person or source is in agreement with others (hopefully the majority). But, then again, someone might be repeating info that they've heard elsewhere without the benefit of any first-hand experience. Who knows?
