what abotu tha blacklights
Full, natural sunlight consists of the entire electromagnetic spectrum. Black lights typically don't go over wavelengths of 400 nanometers whereas visible light alone goes up to 700 nanometers.
I don't know what specific benefits that could yield. Green light, however, can be used during a night cycle to see the plants without disturbing them.\"That\'s the only way you can solve the problem, with a paradox, man.\"

what abotu tha blacklights
Indeed, black lights are usually near to or in the UV range, from about λ 350-400nm (peaking at around 370-375). *NOTE* Other common UV lights may emit peak light levels around λ 360-365nm; one such device is a Woods Lamp, frequently used in forensics and medicine. In either case, this is nowhere near the spectrum that plants need to actively photosynthesize. Most plants have an absorbance spectrum similar to the graph illustrated below, which includes reds, yellows, oranges, and blues (but very little green, which is why we see green leaves - green light is the prominent spectrum that is reflected and not absorbed by the plant). As you can see, chlorophyll a does reach into the UV range, however only marginally and on a declining slope. Chlorophyll b does as well, though at even lower levels. A much better investment (in all aspects) would be to go with full spectrum visible light output devices (or sunlight), as these are the spectrums used in photosynthesis. Hope this helps :smokin:.

what abotu tha blacklights
One last bit of advice - UV lights CAN provide one benefit that VisSpec lights don't, and that is antimicrobial and bacteriostatic action. Usually lower λ levels are required for this, but it does greatly reduce the risk of microbial infection to the plant (although in practical terms may not be worth the effort, time, or money). These types of lamps are often used in biohazard areas where aerosolized particles of microbes may pose a threat to personnel and the retention of living or active organisms/viral particles is not required.

introduce them to sunlight slowly ... place it in shade for first day, and half-shade a couple days ... full sunlight is too much, all at once
