Israeli leaders snub Jimmy CarterJERUSALEM (AP) â?? Former U.S. President Jimmy Carter is currently an unpopular figure in Israel, though he brokered its first peace treaty with an Arab nation, Egypt, in 1979.
Carter met Sunday with Israel's ceremonial president, Shimon Peres, at the beginning of a week-long Mideast tour, but Israel's political leadership is avoiding him. Israel's perception is that in the 30 years since he got Israel and Egypt together, Carter has turned hostile toward Israel, while favoring the Palestinians.

Israeli and U.S. officials are particularly peeved that he has also chosen to meet in Syria with the leader of the militant Hamas movement, blacklisted by Washington and Jerusalem as a terrorist organization.

In an interview published Monday in Israel's Haaretz daily, Carter responded to criticism by U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, saying that the State Department had been informed of the schedule for his week-long Mideast tour and had not tried to dissuade him from seeing exiled Hamas chief Khaled Mashaal in Damascus, Syria.

Hamas is sworn to Israel's destruction and has carried out dozens of suicide bombings that have killed more than 250 Israelis. Israel has no contacts with the Islamic militant group, whose violent takeover of the Gaza Strip in June has complicated newly revived efforts by Israel and the Palestinians to strike a final peace deal.

Way to go Jimmy! I guess the old saying of wisdom and age going hand in hand doesn't apply here; he's as big of an idiot as he was when he was president. Piss on our allie...lets meet with some group the world considers as terrorists. This should help the DNC's efforts.

Israeli leaders snub Jimmy CarterJimmy Fuckin' Carter, the man never met a dictator or terrorist he didn't like.

One of the most socialist, if not the most socialist leader the United States has ever seen. I see oh so many people bitching about gas prices we have now. Any one else remember when Jimmy Carter was in office? NO ONE HAD GAS BECAUSE HE DEMANDED THAT IT COST A CERTAIN SET PRICE! Sounds just like how Venezuala's leader demanded that beef only only cost a certain price, let's say for shits and giggles it's 35 cents a pound. The farmers can ony make beef for 2 dollars, now theres a beef shortage. OPEC didn't help the situation but Jimmy Carter really tanked the economy.

Prices may be high now but at least your not at home waiting to be called for the fucking gas lottery.

Anywho, this whole post is just me trying to show how I feel about good ol' Jimmy.

 And that's my two cents.

Israeli leaders snub Jimmy CarterI am supposed to believe the Palestinians are terrorists because they're fighting for the same land that the Israelites are fighting for. I think they're both fucked in the head. To cause this much death and hate over a piece of ground is insane. But why are we choosing sides in this? Do you really think Israel is innocent in this mess? Originally Posted by Psycho4Bud Originally Posted by Psycho4Bud

Israeli leaders snub Jimmy CarterNeither side here is completely innocent but we have to look further than that. How much love is there between us and them in terms of being an allie? What will happen if we were to say fuck it and let Israel fall to Hamas, Hezbullah, Syria, and Iran? When Israel launches over 200 nukes throughout the region in a last ditch effort what are the consequences that the world will have to face because of it? Does Germany regain it's lands it lost since WW1?

Israel had complete control of the Gaza Strip at one time and gave the land to the Palestinians. Since then they've had rockets, car bombs, and suicide vests to deal with. Isn't that a hell of a thank you? How much land has the other Palestinian neighbors given to help the cause?
