I don't agree with what most of Rev. Wright says, but you know these speeches have to be coming from somewhere. I get the feeling that anybody living in segregated ghetto's is going to be a little pissed at the ruling class. Most white people living today can't be blamed for the situation blacks are in, and I'm a staunch opponent of the "guilt by racial association" philosophy, but you can't deny that where blacks are today is due mostly to white policies back in the day.

Speaking Saturday at a eulogy for former appellate Judge R. Eugene Pincham, a member of Wright's Trinity United Church of Christ, Wright blamed the Founding Fathers for the woes of blacks today, claiming they ??planted slavery and white supremacy in the DNA of this republic.?
Damned if I've ever seen a part of the constitution that ensures white supremecy. I mean yeah the founding fathers were racist, but then so was everybody! The society was unfortunately buggered in the head at the time. That doesn't invalidate the founding fathers' accomplishments of establishing the most free society of the time with one of the best documents ever written in human history.

Wright cited Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, who recently said the country has a ??congenital birth defect? owing to its constitutional acceptance of slavery.
Am I missing something? Is there something in the consitution about slavery that I missed? :wtf: Keeping in mind that outlining laws and practices of slavery itself, is not the same thing as mandating actual slavery.

Wright also described Thomas Jefferson as having engaged in ??pedophilia.?
It's a free country. If the nut wants to accuse anybody of anything, he has all rights to do so. Then the rest of us have all rights to kick his ass in a debate.

But his most heated comments were targeted at Fox News, which he called "Fix News."
Hmmmmm, can't say I really disagree there.

??Fox News can??t understand that,? Wright exclaimed. ??[Bill] O??Reilly will never get that. Sean Hannity??s stupid fantasy will keep him forever stuck on stupid when it comes to comprehending how you can love a brother who does not believe what you believe. [Pincham??s] faith was a faith in a God who loved the whole world not just one country or one creed.?
Never even heard of Sean Hannity, so I can't comment. Bill O'Riley, now there's a jackass! The man's so damn sure he's right because if anybody says anything too far from his own views he can yell over them "Shutup! That's insane! I won't let you say that on my show!"

Presidential candidate Sen. Barack Obama, a member of Wright's church, has distanced himself from some of Wright's comments but refuses to condemn his former pastor or resign from the church.
I think Obama made some pretty good arguments in justifying his staying with the Church. There's a whole community of people there he's known for over 30 years. Rev. Wright, as Obama said, has been more to him than the one comment media kept looping over and over on the television.
My own father pisses me off when we get in arguments and he starts spouting how most homosexuals are closet pedophiles, or how Muslims are a bunch of blood-crazed savages. But that makes up 0.05% of my total experiences with him, and I'm not going to disown him over it. Pretty much the same thing with Obama and his pastor.

Jeremiah Wright made his first comments since his public sermons made national headlines. He came out swinging, once again attacking the United States for racism.
