Yes, joints work the entire way to the roach, as many as I've had I would have realized if I was only as high as a few hits instead of an entire joint. Acutally, the resin coating the paper and bud makes them more potent at the end.

I was hoping this was mentioned. I also notice as the joint burns the bud left down the J gets coated with resin, all the way down to the roach, and this makes those hits pretty strong..

now ive been thinking about this,you lot say resin do you mean tar?or do you mean thc crystals?if you mean tar you dont get high of any amount of tar,if you mean that thc vaporizes at 200 and then solidifies when it cools that cant be right,it must be wrong.
IF thc returns to a solid state when it cools(as in the joint,as in your mouth as in your throat as in your lungs)then surely a vaporizer balloon would crust up inside as that dosent get anywhere near 400 degrees(which is the outside of a burning joint tip(the centre of the burning tip is nearer to 600)vaps are usually set at 200 and if thc solidifies when cool it would cool in the balloon just like in a water bong or long pipe.
i reckon thc stays a vapor after being heated until it can bind to an oil(fatty) subtance(your brain,the oil in cakes or maybe coconut oil for canna capsules)so i stll think i'm right!

Yes THC does collect in the resined weed as in TAR resin not CANNABIS resin. Joints work the whole way but the question is is it worth smoking all the other shit in a roach to get what little THC built up? PROBABLY NOT. I dont smoke roaches its way to unhealthy. Just smoke the first 3/4 of your joint youll get high enough. If your smoking perfectly cured homegrown then smoke the whole thing. I am sure most of you are not though.

Your not crazy, I was just thinking about the same thing a week ago and it has still been a big question for me as well.

My guess is that it wouldn't take out all of the thc behind the amber dissapear until it gets to the last 1/4" of roach. That is why the smoke burns your throught more when it gets short, becase that last 1/4" is smoke that is above 200c.

Thats my guesstimate.

When you smoke a joint, the THC bonds with the tar in the smoke which passes through the rest of the weed and gets stuck to it. When you burn the weed that has this tar on it you're also burning the THC in it. So yes, a joint will work until the very end. I've smoked many roaches in my lifetime and i've always gotten very high off of them.

Whether or not you believe that what coats the end of the joint has thc or not is completely irrelevent. There is still weed in the joint that you paid for. Go ahead and try and tell me that it won't get you high. Throw it away and waste your money if you want to.

I save roaches to stuff in my bong. They get me nice and high every time. I'm no scientist either, but I would say that is scientific proof that it is still potent with THC. Whether it is from built up resin (which I'm sure is part of it) or just the leftover cannabis, it still seems to work pretty darn good. I don't waste my herb. Which is also why I usually don't smoke joints, because they are so damn harsh at the end.

Yes, the weed itself acts as a smoke filter, the first hit off a joint is nice, because there's a lot of weed there to filter it, as it gets smoked it's less efficient at filtering the smoke. But just as a cigarette filter with weed in place of a cigarette, the filter absorbs much of the thc (I can't even cop a buzz off a full cigarette stuffed with weed instead of tobacco, cause of the filter) just as the other weed absorbs much of the THC. The roaches are potent as shit let me tell you, that's why many a stoner will save up their roaches to roll another "Generation Joint" a very potent joint from the tar and resined up weed from joints past.

Another viable argument would be that vaporizers would in turn, also cause all the THC to burn up (as many go well over 200 degrees) right away (by burn up I mean vaporize), but that's not the case as a whip style packed up can be hit with potent vapor coming out many a time before the THC fully diminishes, thus the hot vapor being inhaled from the end of a joint going on down through a solid insulator (not just air) and filter would in turn not consume much if any of the THC as deposits from the smoke passing through pass of a compensating amount which in the end gives a roach that's contents are more potent than the previous weed (which could be why it's so harsh actually, along with tar, actual resin and kief is murder on the lungs, even kill weed can give you a coughing fit).
