    watering with liquid lime

hi. Is it ok to add some liquid lime while the plant is growing, say around the time that I switch to 12/12 for flowering. The instructions say to apply in the spring and fall which sort of makes me wonder if that means berfore planting and after harvest.

i would not add any liquid lime.....i believe its for 'improving' soil PH. if you have a ph problem dolomite lime will do the trick. BUT thats only if your having PH issues.

    watering with liquid lime

Well I think my soil has gotten slightly more acidic than it was when I started 3 weeks ago but it's still not really in the trouble range. I was wanting to stave off any pH problems before they occur. I had a pH problem last time I grew, which was also my first time, but I was using a soil that was largely peat moss.

I'm using what I think is promix now, but I'm still worried that the soild will get too acidic as I feed it. I'm using fox farm grow big, tiger bloom and big bloom as my ferts, by the way.

If you do not know your soil or water ph...then why are you attempting to adjust it? Correcting for nonexistent problems usually causes problems. Get yourself a ph pen or a gh test kit and find out if you need the adjustments.

The reference to spring and fall are for vegetative growth (spring) and flowering (fall) Why would you add to the soil after harvest, lol?

Since it's only been a few weeks, your ph should have been fine for at least the next month or so. (promix, right?) Save-up some cash, and go get the ph pen.

I used a solution tester kit. It's for hydro, but what I did was water and caught the water from the bottom, then dropped in the pH testing solution. I did that when I first started 3 weeks ago and then again a few days ago. The first time it was light green which according to my chart I'd say was around 6.6 or 6.7. The last time I tested it was like a light yellow, almost too clear to see. I'd say it's now in the 6.2 to 6.4 range.
The soil is promix but it's been sitting around in big ass freezer bags for like two years sealed up so I don't know if that would hurt it or make the ph degrade faster towards the acidic side.
