Temperature issue
hello. I have a grow in a back room in a closet. The room is the hottest part of the house for some reason. I checked the temp. inside the closet and it's at 85 F. I have a cooltube and 2 fans in the closet. Can i have a successful grow being at that temp.?? And what else can i do to make the closet a bit cooler??? Thank you.

What stage of the grow are you at? If you're in flower, have you got the lights coming on at night when it's the coolest part of the day? Where are you exhausting your hot air to and what are the temps in that area?

They can handle 85 degrees if that is the hottest it gets. You seem to have enough air movement to aid the plants. Also, run your lights at night if your house is cooler in the evening.

Veg stage. 24/hr lights on.. The hot air is exhausting into the room, the lights are in the closet.. The temp in the room is pretty warm now since the air is being exhausted into that room from the closet. As mentioned before that room for some reason has always been warmer than the rest, even when the air conditioning is on, always took longer to cool down etc.. Especially now since that hot air is being released from the closet. Don't usually use that room so thats why i put the setup in there. I have passive intake with pvc at the bottom of the door. Perhaps if i put another fan blowing full speed at the bottom of the door it will suck up cooler air through the pvc rather than the warmer air being exhausted out into the whole room? Other than fans, i dont really know what else could be placed inside the closet to make it cooler.. i am not going to buy some mini portable ac unit and spend like 400 bucks LOL. Dont really want to open a window in that room either. Any and all information and tips/tricks or just someone that knows a lot to just say "don't worry, it's going to be OK!" would be awsome! LOL. Please shoot me some information

Thanks a lot guys!!

Lol wish I could say "don't worry, it's gonna be ok" Like grey said if 85 is the hottest it gets you'll be ok but if there's any chance they can go higher I'd try everything to lower them. Why don't you want to open a window in that room? IMO thats where the problem lies, all the hot air your exausting is just being trapped in the room and being recirculated, also they really need a supply of FRESH air, you need to open a window or extract outside the room. Also why don't you run your lights 18-6 and give the room a few hours to cool down.

You're going to need a window a/c in the 'lung room' that the closet is pulling air from and exhausting into. 85 is a MAX temp that you would ever want to maintain- 78'F is ideal, and 80'F is a good max to work with. Remember that rooms often DO have hotter spots in them.

By 18/6 are you saying on the 7th day no light at all?? Why is that is the main question??? what purpose does it serve to do that? why not just 18hrs each day?

Hi SimonSaysSmoke,
18 hours on 6 hours a day off will keep your babies in veg, the 6 hours off will give them a rest from the heat,
It has already been said because you are drawing the warm air form the grow space into your room which is simply making your grow space warmer, you need fresh air flowing into the grow space that should cool it down a bit, it will also give your babies oxygen, they dont survive to well without it dont you know.
