ZERO green candidates got elected last night...the combined liberal, NDP, and green votes add up to over 51% of all votes cast, but the conservatives formed the government with just 37% of the popular vote

Just like the US everyone needs to get there butt out there and vote. I know its discouraging but its all you've got in a democracy. Atleast you guys can have multiple parties run for president. We only get stuck with 2 because of the electoral college.

i always vote, but this election i didn't like any of the candidates for prime minister...it showed at the polls too - we had our lowest voter turnout ever: just 59% which would be high for the usa

Since 9% of the vote got the Bloc 50 seats and 7% of the vote got the Greens no seats I think maybe Welcome! | Fair Vote Canada / Repr©sentation ©quitable au Canada is something to support. I will have to do some reading on what Welcome! | Fair Vote Canada / Repr©sentation ©quitable au Canada is planning before I can say for sure if I support their cause.

Well we already had a referendum on MMP style voting...and it lost hard. However I argue this is because of underpublication....people didn't have any idea what it was or how it worked...this was no coincidence.
Poor liberals don't want to publicize it of course, because they won't win their landslide ever again.

we had a referendum on proportional representation in BC and got 58% support for changing the system, but it fell short of the required 65% support so the minority rules and we're stuck with the stupid first-past-the-post system
