    new and confused

I have probably read 200 various pages on growing pot in the last month. Haven't got a seed planted yet. Got seeds soaking - white widow and ausie blue. Have settled on indoor SCRog with sterile soil. I have a small rolling cart 26"x20"x20" with no sides I will make walls with alum foil dull side IN and keep in my bathroom. Will be able to wheel cart though to other areas of house as necessary. Yeah, very small, I can do a walk in closet but I would have to put my clothes and husband somewhere (he's not hip on the idea as neither one of us smokes and he's worried. I will be licensed in Oregon so all will be legal but he is a worry wart.) My question(s): My cart will hold 8 plastic gallon milk jugs comfortably. Can I use them as planters or are they too small. I also have the clip on lights and bought the curly little light bulbs of flouresent cool white - 26w(=100w) and 1700 lumens output each. Would these work? Just exactly how tall will the plants get? I just lost the tomato seedlings I planted (in my bahroom window) and am petrified to to start this operation. I am doing this as medical for my sister and don't want to let her down.

    Hey,

Seeing as you got 26" height you're gonna have to keep your plant very small. Try getting a very wide and not too tall pot so you lose as little height with your pot as possible.

Those bulbs sound ok. Good luck!

you'd do better buying an 1/8....

    but,

4 bulbs, clipped to each "bar"
get an emergency blanket at walmart and wrap the cart using duct tape to affix. use where the ends meet as the entry.
using 1' chickenwire cut to internal size and affix each corner 14" up with wire to the "bars" make sure you bend in the edges so they dont rip the safety blanket
find 4" square pots enough to fill the entire area (about 20 if you will clone).
when your seeds sprout keep them on and 18/6 light schedule.
at 5 internodes, bend them over gently and hold them in the position with a bent piece of coathanger (make it like a hook)
after 3 more weeks you will guide the growth under the screen directing the chutes into the holes in the wire. (Or you could clone at this point and fill the entire space)
12/12 when the screen is full

you won't yield much in that space however if the intention is right, it's rewarding.

have fun, hope my 5 minutes helped a little.

Blinc_inc - thanks for taking the time to read my post and give me the info I needed. It is perfect. And I just happen to have 2 emergency blankets in my survival kit - I didn't even think of them. I guess I better try to start thinking outside of the box!

you may want to keep some Moms or a Mom to clone from as going from seed each time will take a lot of time.

something as simple as a grbage can with draiage holes and a few CFL's can keep a nice mother that will fill your grow area every 6-8 weeks.

read on LST, topping and bonsai moms.
