    CFL Cab Grow 3 Bagseed

This is my first attempt at finishing a plant from seed to harvest. The plants are 3 bagseed plants, all females. I had 2 that weren't showing pistils yet so I ditched them cause I wouldn't have room anyways.

The cab setup is a 3.5ft tall, 2ft long, 2.5ft wide plywood box painted with 4 coats of flat white paint. The lights are all 23 watt CFLs. There are 4 lights in reflectors that hang up top along with 3 lights on each side. Right now they have 6500k lights in them for 24/0, but I plan on changing 6 out for 2300k for 12/12 flowering. There are 2 smaller (60mm?) computer fans and 1 larger (110mm?) computer fan up top pulling air out of the box. The intake is only 1 2in pvc pipe so when I start to flower Ill have to put in another probably. I just leave the door open about an inch for now.

Inside are my 3 girls in there larger pots now (transplanted tonight) 2 are in 12in pots and 1 is in a 10in pot. The dirt was a mix of: 5 gal Expert Gardeners Organic Soil, 10lbs Worm Castings, 3 tbs blood meal, Bone Meal, Perlite. Also there are 2 4 inch fans blowing directly on the plants.

The temps stay in the range of 73-78 and the humidity is always about 33-38%.

I recently attempted to FIM 2 of the plants (not the one that I to LST cause I lost so many leafs) Hopefully it will work.

Here's the pics of the box, and the plants that are in them.

Yeah the one that's bent over had to be LSTd because those are the only leafs left on it and even they don't look that great. If I have to get rid of her - oh well. That box would fit 2 large plants comfortably, 3's a crowd.

I think the slow growth is from not having a very good soil mix to use for a long time, also the lack of a good nutrient line-up. Hopefully they will take better to the new dirt i transplanted them into.

Thanks for the compliment though too!

    Looking good!

I like your cabinet. Curious as to how much it weighs? I considered plywood/particle board myself before going with rubbermaid for portability. But yours looks really kewl.

Plants appear to be recovering nicely from your soil issue.

    Good Luck!!

They really seem to like the larger pots and new dirt. The pots I had didn't have any holes drilled in the side so the soil isn't drying out very fast. it's been about 3 days and my moisture meter still reads 10 about 1in away from edge of the pot. I (carefully :thumbsup drilled out holes today in hope of getting the soil to dry out faster. Is that why the leaves are curling up and getting twisty? Also theres some spots on the leaves on that plant too, what could that be?

I was thinking about getting 6 2300k CFLs and keeping 4 of the 6500k CFLs in there (probably in the 4 corners?) Would it be more beneficial just to get 10 2300k spectrum though?

Got some more pics of the girls. Did I do the FIM right? It's been a couple days and I can't really tell if I'm gonna get some more shoots or not lol but it was my first try and I was not 100% sure what I was doing. I was thinking about flowering a week or so after they recover from the FIM and I get them tied down.

    Lemme know whatcha think!

You'll want to use the 6500K for vegetative growth, and then when you switch to flowering you use the 2300K. So as long as your in vegetative growth, try to use all of your 6500K. Having the 2300K in there won't hurt it, but it will just be much more beneficial with the 6500K

Yeah I have all 10 6500ks in there for veg, but when I start to flower I was thinking about keeping 4 6500ks in there and switching 6 out for 2300k.

I've heard of people getting better quality bud with a few higher spectrum lights in there room, while quantity seems to come from the lower spectrum. Is this true?

Maybe I'll be better off just switching all of them to 2300k for flowering, just thought I'd try to save a buck where I could lol.

I would keep some of the 6500k's in there during flowering also, my seedlings seem to be doing well on day 12 and i have a 150W CFL (lower spectrum not exactly sure what color temp) and 2 100W 6500k and they're doing great. I would think a full spectrum along with enough light (lumens) would help out rather than just on spectrum.

Got all 3 girls LSTd tonight. They seem to be doing very good since the transplant. Side growths are taking off now and seem to be doing good as well. I still can't really tell if the FIM worked or not, but hopefully it did cause I want a bunch of colas .

I'm wanting to begin flowering after they bounce back from the LST and FIM cutting, how long does it usually take for them to recover? Is there anything else that I can do to prepare them for flowering?
