in veg i personally use 1 x 26/100 cfl daylighter over each within 1-3 inches with good results.
no need for more than 1 each, based on my experiences in the last year. but do keep well ventilated.

Start using purified water, and forget the tap water. Pretend like tap water don't exist, I don't even use it for my soil plants.

i use tap water for my soil and hydro grows, with good results.

tap water varies greatly by region. also factors like, "city water" and your distance from nearest treatment plant vs "well water" or even just low pressure back country water. this isnt even to mention the mineral and ph variations that exist in all these and other scenrios.

ph is the easiest thing to mess u up and will get in the way of fixing a lot of potential problems.
PH is the first thing to stand between ur plants and proper nute intake.
Get a PH kit with adjusters, First., spend the 50+/-, its so worth it. I learned a lot the hard way, its painful.:wtf:

and get a cheap tds pen (40-ish)and calibrating stuff.

Rock.Steady Reviewed by Rock.Steady on 04-11-2008. what is wrong with my plant and clone? what is wrong with my seedling plant and clone? they R both in a small DWC system for now. they have only gotten tap water. and damm it if I don't have a ppm and ph tester. gunna try to get one. and they have 1 25 watt cfl light on them its about 3 inches away. and the last pic is of a few days ago. I had gave some blaclstrap molasses. but the a few dayd later the seedling was droopy and I found some slime in the bucket. Rating: 5
