    Green Dragon - need suggestions

    Hi guys,

    I got kinda lazy and decided to try the cold-extraction Green Dragon. So I dumped all my stems into a jar with some 151 and figured I'd wait a month.

    After reading on the boards here, I decided that was probably going to suck compared to cooking the stuff first to activate it.

    What should I do now? Can I take it out and cook it now or what?

    Yes, you could cook it... just put the stems and the 151 into a suitable container, and heat it in a water bath... the "technical" details (there are some) you can read at the Master Wu's Green Dragon sticky thread... and good luck! :thumbsup:

    Okay, Dragon update.

    Here's what I've got:
    Some largeish stems and about one bowl's worth of moderately good bud in about 1.5 ounces of Bacardi 151.

    I had it sitting cold for about a week or so. Per suggestion here, I placed it in a bath of water on the stove on medium heat today to try and get more out of it.

    I wasn't sure how to really tell when the alcohol was boiling, but I kept the stove at a temp where the water bath was steaming and little bubbles formed, but it wasn't actually boiling (I don't have a thermometer). I tried to look at the alcohol too but I used an amber-colored jar and it was hard to tell what was really going on with it.

    I cooked it like this for about 15-20 minutes.

    My question is now this:
    I know this is maybe a little weak compared to the recommended ratio of herb to alcohol... so what is your recommended dose for this stuff?

    Well... i think you can measure the dose you would need.
    If you were to smoke the bud and stems you put in it, how many doses you would get from the amount you put in the green dragon?
    The number of doses is the fraction of the green dragon that contains the amount of weed you would usually smoke. For example:
    Lets say the amount of weed/stems you put in it would be enough for smoking 6 times. So, if you were to drink the amount of g.d. equivalent to this, you should drink 1/6 of the total amount of g.d. you got.
    As drinking weed is not so efficient as smoking, i always drink more than smoke. Usually i drink 1.5-2x the amount i would smoke. So, if you were to double the amount of g.d., supposing the same ratio used before, you should drink 2/6 (or 1/3) of the total amount of g.d. you got.
    I hope my explanation dont be too much confusing (im :stoned, good luck, and tell us how it was! :thumbsup:
