No most kids do not act this way, but many do. Here in Philly most of the senseless violent crime is committed by juveniles. It is because they are stupid, that is the only reason to attack people for no reason.

They attack people for no reason because they can get away with it, and their parents are idiots.

I can never understand why people want to try minors as adults. There is a reason why there is a criminal justice system for minors, because they are not held as responsible or intelligent as adults. If a 15 year old steals some candy from a store he is tried via juvenile corrections process. If that same 15 year old hits a man in the head with a bat and kills him he would most likely be tried as an adult. What is the difference? A crime is a crime. Just because the crime is more serious doesn't mean the individual is any less a minor. If minors are charged as minors for some crimes but not others, why even have a court system designed for them?

Stealing a candy bar is a far, far different act from what those kids in Florida did. Sure, try them as children - but give them very stiff sentences - in other words, reform school, with corporal punishment.


You don't think a lifetime of having to bear such a horrible stigma is punishment enough? On top of that there will be tons of legal penalties the kids will have to face. The victim's physical wounds will heal for the most part, she will get over the psychological effects after a little time passes, her life will continue normally. The attackers on the other hand will never be able to live this down, and it happened to them at such a young age that their lives are pretty much ruined forever. They won't be able to go into public without feeling paranoid that people want to kick their ass.

You are making a case that the perps are going to suffer more than the victim, because they have a guilty conscience. They do not have such feelings. If they did, they wouldn't have beaten that girl down in the first place. They are nothing more than wild animals. Worse, actually, because animals just attack on instinct - to survive. These animals did it for fun. And, that girl is traumatized, probably suffering PTSD, in addition to losing her hearing in one ear, as well as other injuries. Mental scars do NOT heal, in many cases.

Don't get me wrong, I feel for the victim, I have been the victim of violent crimes myself, and I think the 8 idiots who attacked that girl need to be punished, but come on, they just ruined their lives, they don't really need help from anyone else to do that anymore.
"They ruined their lives"! They were LAUGHING at what they did, and actually put it on YouTube. They have no regrets, other than getting caught.

They need to be beaten, and then jailed - for a very long time.
