bong question

I have this bong I got from a friend for free. Only deal is, I didn't get a slider with it. So I rigged up some paper and a chillum and went to town. Recently I've been looking into buying a new slider but notice all the measurements and such on the ads. What do I need to measure on my bong or how do I tell what size of a slider I need?

Measure the downpipe, the slide should fit into that.


Depending on the style of the bong it will be glass on glass, or it will utilize a rubber gasket.

Slider? I've been smoking out of bongs for a good 5 or 6 years now, what the hell is a slider? I've never needed one.. all I got is my bong and my bowl and I've been fine every since.

Slide=the bowl that slides out of the downpipe in order to clear the smoke from the bong chamber.

Do I need to measure the diameter of the downpipe or just the length of it? Reason being, all the bongs I've smoked have been smaller than this one. Much appreciate the help also.

As long as the downpipe goes into the bong water the slide should be fine any length.

You need to do 2 measurements:
-Interior diameter of the downstem. There are 2 standard sizes of replacement sliders, not including glass-on-glass. You need to know this number.
-Maximum length that your new slider can be without making contact with the side of the bong, etc. This is approximately the length of the downstem, but you shoudl check. Measure by sticking a chopstick into the bong as far as it will go before making contact, then draw it back about an inch and pinch it right where it enters the hole. That's the longest possible slider your bong will safely accept.
