Just algae is nothing to be too concerned over- the green kind- keep the fittings clear and unclogged, but it's not a huge deal.
Brown res gunk needs to be manually removed. Make sure your pump has a good filter, clean the filter weekly or more, and even put the WHOLE PUMP inside a filter bag. Remove chunks of res goo with a fish tank skimmer or small strainer and discard.

Well it wasn't today ALL the roots were globbed with brown crap and The reservoir was all filthy brown with that gunky chunky brown algae and organic nutrient. So long story short I had to change the res again today and this time I repotted and used h2o2 again to get most of the brown off and then cleaned the reservoir good. So everything is back in the veg area vegging Rating: 5
