quick question about algae...
Just algae is nothing to be too concerned over- the green kind- keep the fittings clear and unclogged, but it's not a huge deal.
Brown res gunk needs to be manually removed. Make sure your pump has a good filter, clean the filter weekly or more, and even put the WHOLE PUMP inside a filter bag. Remove chunks of res goo with a fish tank skimmer or small strainer and discard.stinkyattic Reviewed by stinkyattic on . quick question about algae... I changed out my res and used h2o2 last week and i thought it would be a good idea to switch to organic veg nutrient . Well it wasn't today ALL the roots were globbed with brown crap and The reservoir was all filthy brown with that gunky chunky brown algae and organic nutrient. So long story short I had to change the res again today and this time I repotted and used h2o2 again to get most of the brown off and then cleaned the reservoir good. So everything is back in the veg area vegging Rating: 5
