Hep with ph query
Hi and thanks in advance for any help given.I am about to start my first grow in soil.I have bought a soil with all the additives in it.It shows the ec 2.4 and ph 6.2-6.8 is what it should show when water is added my query is will i still do my ph in the water before adding to the soil or will ths throw the ph miles out.Second question is how long before i need to add nuts for the ec as it is already quite high in the mix. Thanks

2. Yes, even if your soil reads between 6.2-6.8 you are going to want to set the PH of your water to a proper level. Ideally 6.5 is best for your water. However you'll find that sometimes you may need to water with a lower PH or higher PH depending on what the runoff water of your pot reads. Typically though most soils contain a buffering agent that will last you around 4-5 weeks or so. Just be sure to stay on top of your transplants and you should be fine in regards to PH.
3. You should wait 3-4 weeks before adding nutes to your plants OR until your plants display alternating nodes. Which ever comes first. Start off by using 1/4 strength nutrients and slowly work your way up.

I have purchased a bag of all-mix from a head shop.On the bag is says the ph is 6.2-6.5 and the ec is 2.4.This is what is written on the bag so was concerned that if i added water with ph of 6.0 that it would add to what is in the mix and give me 12.2-12.5 but now i think i understand ht i must do a run of test first.Question 1 should i try adding water with 6.0 ph or should i try less. Question 2 is the cf of 2.4 that is in the soil not to high to start seedlings etc. Thanks

ive used allmix for over a year now m8 , you wont need to add anything during veg as long as you pot up correctly ,, E.C is for hydro so dont worry bout that ,,, start adding ya nutes when ya go into flower
as long as ya water is between 6.4 and 7.5 before you add nutes then the all mix will have no problem buffering it , i use straight tap water ,bout 7.5 ph once ive added nutes it brings it down a bit but as long as ya tap water is drinkable itll be ok to use straight
