I would recommend trying a strain with "early" in it. Basically strains that are bred to finish sooner with good quality and yield, and typically, those strains are pretty easy to grow. You can buy cheap seeds online at a few different places that will ship to the US.

If you have a lot of time and energy to devote to your plants, purple strains turn really purple outside when the weather starts getting colder. Pretty cool to see.
