Hey, I'm considering growing this year, and I had a few questions.

First of all, being in Michigan, the earliest I could plant would be probably mid may possibly, and the latest I could harvest would probably be October, would I still be able to get in a good harvest?

Second, due to space issues, I wouldn't be able to hang all my plants, could I just cut off the buds and dry those upside down without too much of a loss in quality?

Third, what kind of harvest could I expect with say 5 females? I understand this relies heavily upon strain and growing conditions, but is there an extremely rough estimate?

Thanks ahead of time, and of course all I just said was Roleplaying, theres no way in hell I would ever consume an illegal plant, it's much easier and safer to pretend I do.

...If you can start the plants indoors for a week or two in party cups and then transfer them out around mid may at the earliest this will be plenty of time for them to have a decent long veg state and flowering state you will be able to harvest early oct-end but check the trich's to see how amber or cloudy they are.

Second, due to space issues, I wouldn't be able to hang all my plants, could I just cut off the buds and dry those upside down without too much of a loss in quality?

... Well there is going to be a lot of foliage on the leaves and it may be hard to find just buds when your trying to chop. If you have some time and not space you could try taking the bigger leaves off and then cutting longer branches with buds along them. That should make it easier than hanging the whole plant. The quality wont be hurt at all it will actually shorten the dry time.

Third, what kind of harvest could I expect with say 5 females? I understand this relies heavily upon strain and growing conditions, but is there an extremely rough estimate?

... With bag seed growing in Ohio using organic soil mixed in with regular field soil with some mild nutrients added and starting my plants end of April and putting them outside mid may and harvesting mid-end of October I usually pull 4-7 ounces (topped) I Would suggest growing 10-15 and grow in 2-3 different locations that should give you a good harvest to last a year which is the goal of any grower.

If you have any more questions just ask and ill try to help I also have a outdoor growing guide it should be stickied at the top of the outdoor growing section. It may answer some of your questions.

Thanks for your speedy reply and the advice!
I wanted to know though, is the 4-7 ounces per plant or for all your plants together?

no per female plant so 10 female plants at 6 ounces each is 60 ounces total lol

HAHA, Fucking nice, man. Thats like 5 ounces a month :rasta:
I'm gonna gonna start my seedlings once I get a good place to put them, I'll only be able to use a window sill, will that be fine?
Also I'll find a good flowering nute and a good veg nute, and I will be mixing sheep manure in with the soil plot. Also I got a soil test kit so I can make sure the area isn't devoid of natural nutrients.
I'm really excited about this and I'd be thrilled if I could get half the results you did.
    Thanks again! :hippy:

I would recommend trying a strain with "early" in it. Basically strains that are bred to finish sooner with good quality and yield, and typically, those strains are pretty easy to grow. You can buy cheap seeds online at a few different places that will ship to the US.

If you have a lot of time and energy to devote to your plants, purple strains turn really purple outside when the weather starts getting colder. Pretty cool to see.

Well, this year I planned on just using what I have on hand that I've gotten from some good sacks over the past year, but next year I'll probably order seeds online if this grow works well. Also I agree with you on the early strains, but could I grow Afghani too?

Well I just finished testing my sheep manure with my soil test kit, and the results are very incouraging.
The pH was around 7.0, with high levels of potassium, phosphorous, and nitrogen. This should make an excellent fert I think

if it has high levels of NPK i would be carefull starting seedlings in the soil. could be to hot and burn your babes.

No, see the stuff that has the high levels of NPK is the sheep manure that I have, not the soil I'll be planting in.
