enough light?
yeah I thought I needed more light or just an enclosed space. I had my plant just sitting under the light and i was losing light everywhere. I went and bought a plastic bin and painted the inside white hopefully that helps. anymore ideas would help I only have one plant so hopefully it wont take much and this is my first grow. Thanks

there are some pretty good micro grows around here.....the main things you should think about are . how are you going to get your plant enough light/fresh air/food? .......if you figure all that out you should be golden. just gotta do a little searching

enough light?
i was told since i have only one plant i prob. wont need an exhaust fan, and a couple of times a day all i need is to let some fresh air in the closet a couple of times through out the day is that true. I originally thought it was so easy to grow lol, it takes alot of work but is prob def. going to be worth it in the end. Hopefully the end wont take to long to get here lol. thanks for all the help:thumbsup:

letting the door opened a couple of times a day wont cut it. it would be like you sitting in the closet with a hot light on with no fresh air coming in. one plant or one thousand plants, doesnt matter, still needs fresh air.

enough light?
I'm doing my first grow too. I started out with one light in a rubbermaid box with no fan. It made one hell of a little rainforest inside my box and was great for germinating, but I quickly learned that pot doesnt grow in the jungle. As well as the plant needing fresh air, its more an issue to have something cooling down your box.
You say you've got a grow light. What kind've light is it? I started off with a "plant light" which was actually just a big incandescent bulb painted blue, and was just way way too hot. What kind've light are you using?
If you're looking for a cheap meathod to use for lights and you're going to consider a box, then CFLs are the way to go for sure. Very cool running as not to heat your box. If your still vegetating you'll want to get daylight bulbs, or 6500K bulbs. I don't know how big your plant is so I can't say how many youll need right now, but certainly more than one. If you're already flowering, get some regular CFLs for their more red light spectrum.
Do you have any pics?

enough light?
Thanks for the advice. Im going to put some pics up soon. Im trying to change a couple things with my setup. Im going to get some cfl lights and was wandering how far above the plant should my lights be, and is it better to use aluminum foil, or paint the inside of my bins white. I was told if i use foil it may burn my plants. So not sure but thanks for everything.

if you have a fan blowing on your seedlings you can put your light about 1-3 inches away from the leaves....and white paint is almost always better than aluminum foil, so i would go for that.
