I know it seems like medicating is the only option. But I would NEVER recommend a child with autism using marijuana. A child with autism's reality is already chaotic; a psychedelic might sedate him a little, but is going to be detrimental to his development.[SIZE=\"3\"]Originally Posted by UMrocksmysocks

I Have tried many medications Clonazapam, Clonidine, Depakote, Dexedrine,
l, abilify, Melleril, Neurontin, Propranolol, Risperdal, Ritalin, Seroquel, tenex, lorazpam, Zoloft, and Zyprexa, and then combinations of this so I have tried other options for the last 14 years. been to ucsf, childrens hopital, and over a dozen specialist with no answers. So I got that one covered. My question is, is it legal to give it to him he already has a doctors recommendation. I just need to be legal.

I know you are looking for help, but marijuana is not the answer for a child with autism.
As for your legal question (I'm assuming you live in CA), marijuana isn't "legal" in the U.S., but Obama has recently change the federal government's policy regarding medical marijuana. Basically, the feds won't go after people and co-ops that are legit. So if you legally obtained a prescription for your son, you wouldn't need to worry too much about legal repercussions. BUT....when you go down that road, you get registered and THE MAN will always know.[SIZE=\"3\"]Originally Posted by UMrocksmysocks

Thank you for your concern for my child. believe me this was not a rash move, myself and my wife have never used, so this was a last resort.I live in the bay area and have seen all the top people in the field over the last 14 years and they throw there hands up and say they dont know what to do. They say that "he is a rare case." he has had his nose glued back on to his face from breaking out a window on the bus 3rd window in a year, so its crazy
We tried yesterday and a completely different child. happy and no aggresive behaviors. He is non verbal and 185 lbs it was either this or haldol which has a list a mile long of side affects some perminent. Thanks for the info I'm hoping his life will be better, thats all I want.

Thanks for the articles thats great. A question about the age issue, as of right now everything is california legal but at the dispencery they seemed to think that there was legislation in the works to ban minors from the use. Have you heard anything about this.

Good Luck and God bless you and your son. IMHO you are the parents and you know what is best for your child.
I have read alot of good things when marijuna was used for atisum.
I am very new to all this, just last year I was so against Cannabis, until I was diagnosed with glaucoma, I lost one eye when I was a 8 years old when a boy poked me in the eye with a pencil. Then years on the computer, not to mention I got gang green cause the Dr did not know I had an inch of lead in my eye. No government is going to tell me that i am going to lose any more of my vision. The pressure in my eye got so high, and it was either surgery or marijuana. Go figure, I was against it my whole life. Never tried it, and was always very against it.

It was a bit of a weird experience and I certainly laugh about it now but it wasn't particularly pleasurable. And I don't think it was all my fault. They incited paranoia. Didn't dig being treated like some kind of old freak either but then I did get some pretty good SSH from that place.
Prices were nothing to write home about.
Now my experience in Reseda... Well, had a blast and they topped at fifty bucks an eight. Hey Dave! Enjoyed the SD bubblehash and Masterkief too.
Scored a great eighth of Grape Romulan there as well.
Smoking lounge was a laugh and I worried about having caught a disease from having tested a sample of Sour Diesel from one of the in-store glass pipes, lol, but that was mostly my own fault. Shoulda known to bring a friggen bowl.
Nice people.
Right by CSUN too!!!

I think you have to really be in the situation to understand the desperation a parent goes through to make the decicion of using cannabis. I live it EVERYDAY, my son has autism and the intermittent explosive disorder and it is to the point that I am already afraid of him.
We have done therapies tried Several meds and combinations and nothing! Our house is destroyed because of the OCD's and Tantrums etc I am at my wits end! I physically and mentally exhausted.I feel I am getting sick because of all the stress. I HAVE NEVER tried any illegal drugs, EVER! But I am ready to have a more quiet predictable life. And I want to see him happy, he is not at this time. THe OCD's rule his life, the anger too and everything else that comes with this disorder. Its easy for some to pass judgment come and live with me for a day that's all it will take for you to understand.
Sadly in my state is not Legal! anyone knows if I get a prescription somewhere else and bring it here, is it legal?
