    Clinton 'snipers' vs. Obama pastor

Hillary Clinton??s landing ??under sniper fire.????

    Barack Obama??s pastor.

Which resonated more widely in the contest between them for the Democratic Party??s presidential nomination? Which got the attention of more people?

Obama??s Rev. Jeremiah Wright, according to the results of a Pew Research Center survey.

    Not by much, though.

??Roughly four-in-ten Americans heard a lot about Clinton's claim that she came under sniper fire, placing this story near the middle of the list of campaign news events this year in terms of overall visibility,???? Pew reports. ??By comparison, in Pew's News Interest Index survey a week ago, 51 percent reported having heard ??a lot?? about Rev. Wright's sermons.????

In the make-sure-you-spell-my-name-right category of what matters in the end, Clinton continued to lag behind Obama in terms of ??public visibility,???? according to the Project for Excellence in Journalism's Campaign Coverage Index. It found that Clinton was featured prominently in 63 percent of all campaign stories last week, while Obama was featured in 54 percent and Republican John McCain in just 24 percent of the stories.

??Yet when asked which candidate they had heard the most about last week, 53 percent said Obama, 30 percent Clinton and 4 percent McCain,???? Pew reports.

Also , most Americans (55 percent) say their view of Clinton has not changed over the past few days. While 30 percent say they have come to feel less favorably toward her over the past few days, 13 percent say they have come to feel more favorably toward her.

And just over half (52 percent) say their view of Obama has not changed in recent days.

Among those who say their view of him has changed, somewhat more say it is for the worse (27 percent) than for the better (18 percent).

??These reactions are virtually unchanged from the previous week, when news about Rev. Wright and Obama's speech about race dominated campaign coverage,???? Pew reports.

These findings are based on the most recent installment of the weekly News Interest Index, an ongoing project of the Pew Research Center for the People & the Press.

The findings about news coverage were collected from March 24-30 and the findings about public interest in the top news stories of the week was collected March 28-31 from a nationally representative sample of 1,005 adults. The results carry a possible margin of error of plus or minus 3 percentage points.

    Clinton 'snipers' vs. Obama pastor

    January 1, 2008 - New Year's Day
January 16, 2008 - Martin Luther King, Jr.'s birthday (observed)
    February 18, 2008 - President's Day
    May 26, 2008 - Memorial Day (observed)
    June 14, 2008 - Flag Day
    July 4, 2008 - Independence Day
    September 1, 2008 - Labor Day
October 13, 2008 - Columbus Day (United States)
    November 11, 2008 - Veteran's Day
    November 27, 2008 - Thanksgiving
    December 25, 2008 - Christmas

I suppose all the past great Presidents can all be rounded up with ONE day. Likewise, great heros from past wars can likewise have a nameless holiday. What about people on the order of Martha Washington, Rosa Parks, Harriet Tubman....just to name a few others. Also, keep in mind that this holiday was passed during the Reagan years.

McCain is known for being a fiscal conservative. So what is the cost to the taxpayers for having this holiday? There were other issues but race on this vote. Nice to see that primarily government workers got another paid day off.

    Clinton 'snipers' vs. Obama pastor

I wish we'd see more of the Clinton "sniper" story. They all talked about it for 5 minutes and now I guess she's forgiven.

She's even laughing about it on the late show. WTF?
