Early Sex ?

Ok so i have 4 plants that are about 3 weeks old from seed under a 400w hps with a son-t agro bulb and wanted to know if i could force them to flower now using 12/12 then once the sex has been determined i will cut the males out and force the ladies back into veg for about 8-10 weeks until the tent is full and then flower them. Just wanted to know if i might run into trouble and when i should swap from veg or flower nutes if i go ahead with it. Any info would be much appreciated.

This plant is really too young to have any idea about it sex... Learn to be patient, you'll need it !

I'm not sure it's a good idea to do what you want, you may end up creating hermies, stressing them like that...

yes u can...
you are actually close to the ideal age to do that

it takes a lil longer because the plants have to convert to flowering
then revert back to veg as long as u keep stress factors down
heat
light leaks
over water
nute burn
if u keep it good and happy u will have no hermies

thanks twitch, i will do it in a few days. Firstly how long will it take for the plants to show sex? secondly if i get hermies i can use reverse or le femme to get rid of the sacks and still get a decent yeild ? As far as im aware i cant clone these hermies but inform me if im wrong.

Also if i want to avoid hermies in this situation what sort of temps should i try and avoid ?

well im starting the flowering tonight but im going to give them 30 hours of darkness to initiate flowering then they will be on 12/12, Im still unsure on what i asked in my previous post so if i could get feedback that would be great.

they can take 7 to 10 days my first grow showed sex on day 7
my recent one showed at like day 12 it was really weird but i
think the reason was because i put them in flowering really
young (10days into veg) kinda like what ur doing so u might
expect the same thing

temp spikes is what u want to watch out for (some cabs have
this problem not all) keep the temp around 75 u dont want to go
above 85 at 90 or 95 u are cooking the plant my cab goes from
70 at night to 77 to 82 in the day

what i have seen some people do with hermis is just cut the
sacks off, i dont think there is a way to my a hermi go back to
female in fact i am pretty sure u cant (but if i am wrong
someone will be here quick to point it out)
so if u do get a hermi cut the sacks but we will worry about that
if it happens

the 36 hours of darkness to induce flowering i have heard of it
but i personally have never done that u (if we could get stinky in
here she would tell us for sure)

and u can clone anything its a question of why would u want to
clone a hermi

also the plant u have in the pic i would re pot it deeper in the pot
so it is like half an inch above soil then the first set of leaves
every think below the first node can put out roots if u buried it
above the first node ur plant will rot and more then likly that is
followed by death and wilting, shriviling closer and closer to
the ground till it becomes composed...

Ok im not sure if i would uproot it as i think that will stress them out too much. I think i will just force some of the stem underground or cover it with more perlite. As for the temps im sitting at around 84-88 during the day with the lights on, what im doing at the moment is giving them 18 hours of darkness so i can swap the light period for actual night-time so i can keep thinks cooler. As for your info i dont quite understand what you mean by potting the plant deeper it will make more roots or if not it will rot but pretty much everything else you wrote makes perfect sense. You should be an admin

Also are you from australia too ? Au Capitol sounds like ACT to me, i would like to know if it is safe to order seeds online and if you have done so what it entails ? I could maybe even netbank you money and you could get some for me next time you order :P This is ofcourse if you are from aus.

u dont have to worry to much i am a neat freak the steam has a
curl its not going to do anything to it

and no i am not in the AU i just put that up (paranoia)
seed talk isnt highly looked upon by admins in fact they will ban
u if u ask for them i dont think they will mind due to you being new

i use bag seed i have been able to grow some bomb ass shit its
just unpredictable hit or miss

the guy i buy bud from (for like 3 years) has been saving me up
seeds so i have a couple purple seeds couple kush seeds i cant
wait to pop them work with some good genetics

i have yet to order any i have read alot of people do order but
do not know what u have to go through

Yeah i will defo watch the seed talk as im keen to be a long term user/member and as far as bag seed goes im getting this cronic shit at the moment, its so damn crystalised and 2 or 3 cones knocks me on my ass for a good few hours. If only i could get some seeds from it
