Iran Readies Military, Fearing a U.S. Attack
Iran Readies Military, Fearing a U.S. Attack
It remains unclear how much of the recent military activity amounts to a mobilization and how much is propaganda. Iranian officials and analysts have said they want to highlight the potential costs of an attack on Iran to raise the stakes for U.S. officials considering an assault and to frighten a war- weary American public. Iraqi officials, wary of their country becoming a battleground for the conflicting ambitions of Tehran and Washington, concede the damage Iran could do in their country, which now hosts 150,000 U.S. troops. ??If Iran wanted, it could make Iraq a hell for the United States,? Hamid al-Bayati, Iraq??s deputy foreign minister, said recently. Scott Ritter said plans for a June attack on Iran have been submitted to President George W. Bush, and that the president has approved them. He also asserted that knowledgeable sources say U.S. officials ??cooked?? the results of the Jan. 30 elections in Iraq.

Israel pushes U.S. on Iran nuke solution
Tel Aviv??s concerns are one reason the Bush administration in the past year has ratcheted up its rhetoric and its intelligence collection on Iran??s clandestine program to build nuclear weapons, including surveillance flights by unmanned U.S. planes. Defense officials say Israel isn??t putting its concerns about Iran in the form of a ??you attack or we do? ultimatum to the United States.

first of all there isn't going to be a war with iran.second,it is a sad fact that people in this country were deep down upset when the brave iraqi people risked their lives to vote in a free election.more people voted in iraq than voted here in america?people here actually complain about long lines and even better rain?the iraqi's would take mortar fire and suicide bombers and line right back up.amazing!bush could cure aids in the basement of the white house and people would still scream bloody murder.i hate to be the one to say it but that is why bush recieved more votes than in other candidate in american history!ever.UKRAINE votes,Palestine votes,Iraq votes.even saudi arabia is getting into the act(even if it was a sham)anyone who still think's bush is a sucker are the one's who have been suckered.the same people were scared in the 80's with reagan, the soviet union crumbled?it is beginning to look like history is going to repeat itself wether you like it or not.

There are lots of things that look wrong to me...............and i'm sure there are many more.
Firstly the Iraqis did not know the names of the candidates for whom they were supposedly voting. What kind of an election is anonymous!.
Next, many of the voters came out to cast their ballots in the belief that it was the only way to regain enough sovereignty to get American troops back out of their country. But as we all really know the new parliament is unlikely to make such a demand, because its members will be afraid of being killed by the Baath military. Actually...... I'm not sure if the US army will ever leave since they built 14 permament military bases.
Some politicians found out they had been included on election lists without their permission!!!!, whats that all about?
This is one of the worse things tho..... Food dealers took voters name before they were allowed to vote. In parts of Iraq you could only get your monthly food rations if you voted, as witnissed by the food dealer.
Just days before the election, 52 year-old Amin Hajar who owns an auto garage in central Baghdad had said: ?I??ll vote because I can??t afford to have my food ration cut?if that happened, me and my family would starve to death.?
Regardless of who you were voting for I think you and anyone else would vote if you thought your family were at risk of starving to death.
bush could cure aids in the basement of the white house and people would still scream bloody murder.
Really?, I dont think so but it raises the question of Where did aids come from?
i hate to be the one to say it but that is why bush recieved more votes than in other candidate in american history!ever

i blog and talk to iraqi bloggers all the time, for the most part they knew who they were voting for.it is a very small minority of people who do not want the brits and the americans to be there.the minority is led by extremist mullah's who preach wassahbism(radicalism)the MAJORITY of iraqi's are young and do not want to live in that enviroment.you made some great point's and i agree with you somewhat.i am not a radical neo-con or a loony-lefty,most free societies were born from chaos and that is no fun.but i bekieve that freedom will prevail and for the greater good in the world people will have to make a sacrifice.thing's are for sure crazy in iraq right now but there are still more schools than before the war, more electricity than before the war, more hospitals than before the war and the list goes on and on.it's a bumpy road, but it's the right road.

I'm really happy to hear that alot of the people you talk to knew who they were voting for. Do you know if the older part of the population are as well informed or is it that the young people are informing their slefs?.
