Cleaning out my closet --- NOOB ALERT
Hi, Iā??m wondering if I could grow some of that good stuff in my closet (Hence the kickass title
) I am a first time grower so this will be a fun experience and I will definitely learn something The closet is 1 metre X 3 metres but I will only be using 1 metre X 1 metre. Since my granny is always encouraging me to grow plants, not the kind you smoke or cook with, so has a stockpile of pots growing material and probably a lot of other things that could help. So Iā??m wondering what a basic would set up for me would be; what type of seeds, what light and whatever else I missed out.
I come from Ireland btw and the reason I want to grow my own is that the quality of cannabis here is shocking I read an article that said that most blow contains only 10% cannabis and 90% useless maybe dangerous materials to boost the weight. So I would like my weed experience to be of high quality :rasta:AzzaNI Reviewed by AzzaNI on . 1 read some of the 1,839,101 posts of which 40% have asked this same question.
2 build a budget.
3 get some lights, timers, pots, soil, fan, nutrients.
4 move granny out.
BTW, what does weed with 90% useless materials to boost the weight lok like?
I am imagining a 1/4 ounce filled with 90% nuts and bolts and old screws...

For 100$ you can do all right, not great but all right.
Your area in the closet will have to be light tight.
Line the walls you make with black white platic, or make a "tent" out of the black white plastic. Mylar will not be ideal for this area.
6 CFL's will be plenty of light. Read to find out what kind.
Soil, indoor potting soil with perlite added.
Pots, 6 inch square if you can find them.
No room for mother plants so so will need a second set of CFL's to flower. Read to find out what kind.
You will need a fan in there. A small oscillating one will do.
Starting from seed, it will take about 18 weeks before you have results that you can burn. Find a post by Stinkyattic and click the link in her signature, there is a lot of info on everything you will want to ask.
If you are not going to keep a mother (search on Bonsai moms if you are) then your efforts over time may not be worth it for the amount of space you have. ie 6 plants probablyy = less than 2oz dry depending on your strain and environment.
Search on rubbermaid DIY grow box.
Good luck.

i know a meter is just over three feet (3.28 if i'm not mistaken), but let's use three feet for easier mathematics.
3 x 3= 9 sq ft
9600 (lumens) / 9 (sq ft)= 1067 lumens/sq ft. not even close to enough.
AzzNi, you need to get real with yourself and your expectations. if you are going to invest $100 then that's what you shall reap.
what are your desires/expectations for your grow?
unless you get some serious light then a sq meter is too much space. (unless you were gonna put mothers in there and have your flowering section int there too?)
with more light comes more heat. heat can/will be an issue (depending on your climate, and winter is around the corner).
you mine as well use bagseed. unless you order a single fem bean (not a bad idea if you clone the shit out of her) or two, the beans alone will eat your budget out from under you.
i'm not knocking you, i'm trying to help. i'm not talking out of my ass, as with a few CFLs is where is started (and pretty much still at, well 16 actually). check out one of my grows. it can be done in a cardboard box. the closet would be better, but only if you have the equipment to support it.
get back at me.
