Problems with my baby hash plants

Hi Everyone, So happy that this forum is here to help out new growers like me

I have 10 Hash plant started from seed about 2 weeks ago. Im starting to get really concerned, finding a lot of yellowing in the leaf tips.

I started them in 1/3 vermecilite , 1/3 peat , 1/3 soil from my garden.

The more I read I feel like they are not getting any nutirients from that soil mixture.

So I started to intruduce some nurtrients last week.

Set 1 ; bone meal tea ; realized the is NOT good for vedging plants now

Step 2 ; vedg 'tea' from my compost ; grabed a few handfuls of material from the bottom of my compost mostly leaves, and boiled in to a tea, diluted this down quite a lot and watered the plants.

Step 3 ; just last 2 days started using 'real' nutirients Shultz All purpose plant food 10/15/10, delivered it @ 1/4 strength with watering.

Seems like none of this is helping my plants , they are growing, but shouldent they be bigger then this after 14 days ?

    THANKS FOR ALL THE HELP

Heres a bit of a close up, should they have more growth at this point ? That poor little runt in the back

The above post is fictional and should in no way be taken as truth.

If I were to grow cannabis, I would only do so to supply myself and my close friends. Doing this would take myself and my friends out of harms way by knowing the source of our cannabis, as well as take hundreds of thousands of dollars off the black market annually. It would also lower the demand of black market cannabis, and would ultimately help keep cannabis out of the hands of minors.

You're plants are getting burned. They're too young for nutrients at this stage.

Run a good flush through them and make sure you end up with your ph somewhere between 6.3 and 6.8.

If you use peat in the soil mix, you MUST use lime too. Peat needs to be buffered against low pH. That soil looks too wet as well. The plants aren't bad yet, but you should plan to transplant into a light, airy, pH correct potting mix ASAP. You can find ProMix BX or HP at any garden center or nursery, or use a good humus compost with plenty of extra perlite for drainage.

    THANKS

Will be transplanting tonight , How big should I pot in I wonder.

I don't have the space to let them get too large, So I assume a smaller container ( 1 gallon milk jug with the top cut off ?)

Im also goint to pick up a better PH monitor , I just have the cheap soil test kit rightnow.

They are looking better though. Do you think they are nute burned ? They seem to have perked up after I added the Shultz ..

Thanks for all the help, Ill keep you posted

Even smaller- just enough so that there's about an inch of fresh, light soil all around the root ball. So from a 3" pot, you'd go up to a 5 or 6" pot, whcih is a quart, or equivalent to a 6" tall section from a HALF gallon milk jug with the top cut off and of course punched all full of holes and covered in duct tape. Or you could just look in the cellar for used perennials pots, but I'd rinse them and run through the dishwasher first in case of pests.

well everything was going good, then I just noticed a bit of yellowing again. And then this poor little plant has damage in a lot of areas ?

Any ideas ? ...to much nute, not enough maybe ? I just LST 'd them a bit last night and noticed the damage.

Thing is , last 2 waterings have been straight water ...so i added a few nutes last night.

    THANKS !

Are you keeping tabs on your soil pH? I notice that you've got them in milk jugs, are there any drainage holes at the bottom? If not, you may want to think about drilling some in the bottom to allow for better drainage in the event of overwatering. This will also allow you to test the pH of your runoff water, which will tell you roughly where your soil pH stands. Extremes in pH will lock out nutrients, sometimes making the plants look deficient of a certain element, or elements. Like Stinky mentioned, real peaty soils need to be buffered to keep the pH from dropping too low.

If everything pH-wise is in a good range, you might think about bumping the ppm of your fertilizer just a bit. I'd recommend getting your hands on a veg fert that's higher in Nitrogen than it is in Phosphorus and Potassium. Plants need more N in veg, and more P&K in flower.

Thank you for the reply. I have re planted since in ProMix Organic mix, So Im assuming that is a much better soil then what I had before.

The only PH kit I have is one of those cheap soil test kits from hardware store. But I'll check it tonight with that .

    Thanks again !
