Roll of Rolaids in dilution

Ok, so I'm wondering the exact roll that rolaids/tums serves in dillution. I notice it's not on the orignal sticky, but is put in many other posts. The active ingredient is calcium carbonate, is this to add to specific gravity?

FBR's posts always state that they are used for specific gravity. But im like you.. I want to know what active ingredients are helping with this. I wouldn't think it would be the calcium carbonate but im no scientist. The only other active ingredient that i see is Magnesium Hydroxide. FBR.. any info you could provide would be great.:thumbsup:

Yes and yes. Some of the calcium and magnesium ions are excreted in part by the kidneys which in theory should help with specific gravity. I've never really put that much thought into dilution because it's not my cup of tea but magnesium or potassium supplements may also be good. I'll have to look into that. A couple of Tums ends up being like a calcium supplement. Don't have any Tums in them but usually Tums and Rolaids products don't contain magnesium or aluminium hydroxide. Those are more common in Maalox and Mylanta.
