What would it take to get an advertisement like this on national television? Would it be beneficial, or a waste of energy?

A lot more money than people are willing to donate. Television advertisements are the most expensive, yet effective, forms of advertisement. Billboards would be much cheaper, but are not nearly as effective, or would reach the same number of people.

Yup, the only people who have enough money for it is us...Yet our tax dollars go to advertisements for 'abovetheinfluence'

It's no secret in society that marijuana isn't near as bad as any other drug or substance, yet most people are simply too afraid to speak out about it...

The best thing to do is send articles to your local newspapers and throw the information right into people's faces, who otherwise are ignorant to the fact. I'm not saying it changes people's minds, but it makes it even more obvious...

I used to live in a small town with about 3,500 people, and I've sent four or five letters to the editor about medical marijuana, and also remained on a first name basis with a few of the cops...they know it helps just as well as most other people do.

Then perhaps not a television commercial, but a full page advertisement in a popular magazine or newspaper or something of that nature. I believe someone once shelled out $200,000 for a full page ad in TIME magazine for Ron Paul. I think we could easily raise $200,000.

Good job on that letter man! Nice work. We need to encourage more people to do things like this more often!

Maybe take your money bomb idea from the other thread, fuse it with this idea to help pay for a similar advertisement done in 2002.

Would be cool to have something similar only with Obama on the cover with his famous quote "Of course I inhaled, that was the point"

Just a heads up, I've emailed NORML to discuss this campaign, and am currently awaiting a response.

Look forward to hearing what your response is. I bet it will be some mumbo shmumbo detour.
Maybe they'll end the letter with something like "But with additional funding from people like you we can make this happen SOMEDAY"
The following is a link to our donation page...

lol... hope it doesnt go like this for you but I've often wondered how much NORML makes and how much NORML spends.;; if you know what I mean.

i dont think this comercial would be very beneficial. its gonna take a lot more than this to persuade the people who are against it into legalizing it. Put some facts into the commercial and then maybe we would have more of a shot
