strange strain

i have some plants that have 3 leave blades and then 1 leaf blade on the same plantvery wierd to look at however they produce the dank dense buds, what caused the leaves to do this? i wondered if this was a sign of a clone strain used to many geenerations? how does that work? example:
i aquired some clones however i do not know how many generations the mother was. how can i ensure the strain in the future? if i make a new mother every time i plant will that start the generatins over? or does that make the strain weaker and eventually make it go weird and morph out or what? what do you call a plant that mutates like this 3 leaves and one leaf on the same plants???????????????????????????? any thing to say???

it's called pollyploydism(sp), and is a genetic mutation. also, cloning clones will slowly weakin the plant, they call it genetic drift.

thanks for the info...its happened to me before...now i know why...isn't genetic drift a theory yet to be proven?
