Don't bother with the 'sex museums'. If you want to see a sex show, go to one of the big ones like Casa Rosso.
Go see some music while you're there. The Melkweg and Paradiso usually have something good, or if you prefer, the Opera house usually has free performances, or the Concertgebouw is worth seeing if you can afford it.
To find the best coffeeshops in Amsterdam, get out and walk around! Go to the museums, and just follow your nose along the way!
I love Amnesia. It's where I usually start and end my days in A'dam. Great weed, Great hash, and friendly staff and atmosphere make it a place I keep going back to.
I agree that the Grey Area is small, uncomfortable, and sometimes downright unfriendly. But I still think their weed is excellent.
If you have enough weed and just want a chill place to smoke it, I recommend the Sensi Museum Coffeeshop. It's just around the corner from the Sensi Seed store, and the Hemp And Cannabis Museum, and just a little further from the Cannabis College. I like to get some weed from The Greenhouse (just a block away,), then sit in the Sensi shop and have a coffee and a blow.
There's a museum for everyone.
If you like ships, the Scheepvaart Museum is not far from Centraal Station.
If you like modern art, try the Stedelijk Museum.
If you like cats, check out the Kattencabinet.
Be sure to see the Bloemenmarkt on a sunny day.
Go to the AlbertCuypMarkt, and have some Stroopwaffels!
While you're there, look for coffeeshop Katsu. GREAT weed and hash. Try the Scooby Snacks if they have any, and the Bio Sage.
Take the fast ferry boat to the beach at Ijmuiden.
Take a train to Haarlem for the day, and check out Willie Wartel's Coffeeshop.
The shops in Haarlem usually have better weed and hash, and lower prices than most of the A'dam shops.
Utrecht is nice too, but the shops are friendlier in Haarlem from my experience.
Back in A'dam, when you get hungry, what kind of food do you prefer? I can recommend a lot of nice places. Most are kind of spendy, but a few are affordable and still great. Let me know what you like, and I'll have a lot more info for you.
