    AK 48 from Nirvana

A local grower is growing the Nirvana AK 48 strain (first time for that strain) in a hydro setup using the AN 2+ nutrient program. Germinated 30 seeds, planted 20 and kept 12 females. A few did not grow much and were removed. 9 females are left. 4 weeks in to flower cycle. Tall plants shaping up to produce lots of long buds on each plant. HPS and MH lighting is being used.
Looks like maybe 4 to 5 weeks to go.

I will try to get a some pictures in the next few days when i drop by there. The germination rate was good too (28 within 72 hours) but they only had room for 20 plants at the start, the first 20 seeds to geminate (with in 48 hours) were planted.

    AK 48 from Nirvana

reading reviews about Nirvanas AK-48 showed me that this strain has to be a good one....basically it finishes fast, in only 48 days which is rather good , especially for rather impatient people like me....BUT....one thing....in my humble opinion, despite it is an indica strain and can take the cold easier than sativas do, when the breeder says indoors it means that the strain produces better indoors while outdoors is a little bit doubtful.....ie, i grow twilight (Dutch Passion, indica pure)....the breeder states it for outdoor but i did the opposite which in my case is good, even according to the breeder.....unless you have mild weather where you are don't go outside with a strain meant to be grown indoors.....i will propably grow some as well.....anyway, good luck with whatever you choose to grow....

kool, look fwd to peeping those pics, KanMan, 20 plants sounds like a goodly number . and thank you newgrower for answering a question i have been pondering for months and that is growing an indoor strain outdoors. now i am re-considering trying to grow the AK outside, but is just sounds so good, lol. sometimes i don't know what to believe....was on some seed site last nite reading about shiva (got some of those too), which is indoor, but this site said you can even grow shiva outdoors in the U.K.! oh well, i've learned alittle and hopefully gotten better at picking strains for my climate. appreciate it, peeps ...

If they fill out they will produce a lot of one hit wonder bud. Very tall lots of branches covered with small buds every where.

KanMan, i liked that last flowering pic especially! its enough to give ya spring fever, lol! very nice and thanx for posting those pics. i can relate to newgroweroldsmoker....been growing bagseed outdoors for longer than i care to admit, lol....but the whole seedbank thing and variety of strains is mind blowing! a buddy and i ordered a seed catalog out of High Times a dozen years ago and we ordered some seeds....they didn't have what we ordered, but what they gave us was killer!! so, i don't see how a grower can miss, if he does some research on his climate zone and orders strains that finish accordingly. that's really why i asked about the AK, i knew it might not be a good strain to plant outdoors, especially in the North. and you and newgroweroldsmoker were really helpful in answering that. i may just put a few AK girls out just to see what happens, but i'm not expecting anything. i've got like early bud, top 44, early misty, etc. i will post some pics of my grow also....cool to be here guitar
