OK - there might be something to that but there??s one minor problem: Gore hasn??t run in any primaries. If you nominate him, lots of voters will feel disenfranchised.

And there are more problems, of course: Gore ran in 2000 as VP of one of America??s most popular presidents. Yet he lost. If he lost in 2000 how is he expected to win this time around, in 2008?

He??s still the same person, the person who lost the elections in 2000. Remember the ??I invented the Internet? thing? He was called arrogant; well, his arrogance hasn??t disappeared. In fact, he??s probably more arrogant now that he has won the Nobel Peace Prize (for doing something that hasn??t got anything to do with Peace).

No way it's going to happen, for all the reasons you cited. The nominee wil be either Clinton or Obama.

And I think maybe the Telegraph is overstating the division in the party. Most Democrats will support either candidate.
